  1. I’m kinda thinking it was Brands’ idea
  2. Do we have any posters in attendance?
  3. Are we keeping this as the match thread?
  4. Fernandes was one of the most dominant wrestlers in NJ history too. Unfortunate that he only had the chance to wrestle in 2 NCAA tournaments. Maybe Iowa will pull him out of retirement in 4 years for a stopgap after Kueter, he still has 1 year (maybe 2 depending on the leniency of medical years) of eligibility.
  5. This seems a bit premature. Of course Fix still has some prime years left to see if he improves on the international scene.
  6. People should be allowed to say whatever they want. But saying hateful things certainly shouldn’t be encouraged, so there may be consequences for things you say. The issue as it relates to the title of this thread is that posts like these can now earn people money (although in this particular case it looks to have been community noted which may demonetize it. Apparently the article screenshotted was from 2012).
  7. I don’t know if we know this. Maybe they go after Burroughs or Dake or something
  8. Totally agree that’s why the ranking is wrong. But I was also alluding to Cannon as well, he should not be ranked either
  9. So do you think Trump was wrong to want to ban trans folks from serving in the military?
  10. Block doesn’t have any signature wins, but while on the surface some of his losses look bad (especially if going by wrestlestat ratings), if you dig in they’re really not. He’s lost to #1, #16, then Zach Redding and Aden Valencia. Redding has been a backup the past 2 years, this season he’s 1-2 with his losses being to #7 Koderhandt and Aden Valencia, but even last year as a backup he had a win over the current #17 at 149. Block and Redding are Valencia’s only 2 wins, but his only 2 losses are to #5 Happel and #11 Lemley. So TBH, on the “eye test,” there’a a good chance Block probably is around the 20-25th best guy. He just hasn’t earned it yet
  11. Saw this come up on social media: Man these guys have really went in opposite directions since then. Kasak is 25-3 since, beat Rathjen 8-1 at Big Tens, finished 3rd at NCAA’s and is 12-0 this season. Rathjen is 11-6 since (11-7 counting a MFFL), went 1-2 at NCAA’s and is not a starter this season
  12. I think only @red viking is blaming him which I agree is dumb. Others are just calling out that Trump criticized DEI in his remarks. Here is the crew chief of the helicopter btw (RIP)
  13. Hate just out in the open now
  14. Agree. But @Tripnsweep was criticizing those that did that, and you called him scum.
  15. What is?
  16. Check out any thread on this on x. Probably about 20% of the replies are saying it was intentional or because of a DEI hire
  17. Terrible story. Members of US Figure Skating believed to be among the victims. Of course you already have idiots on social media claiming it was intentional.
  18. Backup 197 Ian Bush WVU
  19. That’s not the same guy. This version of Chris Cannon got pinned by a guy who is 2-4 this year and 5-14 for his career
  20. It is true. But “Gaza” is in Mozambique
  21. Well to pick on intermat at the same weight, they currently have Chris Cannon #33 at 141. He is 1-5 with his only win against someone from Northern Illinois that is redshirting. He hasn’t beaten a D1 starter since 2023, down a weight.
  22. For the Coaches rank…
  23. But they have always said they base it on “total resume,” and that the resume is constantly changing as the season goes on. That’s exactly what happened last year with Jack Maida when he dropped like 10 spots or something without wrestling, because guys he had beaten took a bunch of losses (which I agreed with). So pretty much same situation here. I think this was an oversight and they will correct it (as long as Block doesn’t beat Beau Bartlett).
  24. I was gonna try to give them some benefit of the doubt and say “maybe the guys below him have no resume either.” But it didn’t take long to prove that theory wrong. The guy one spot below him - Dylan Cedeno of UVA - is 7-0 with wins over #20 (Scott), #28 (Hanna), and #30 (Miranda). Zero reason for Block to be above him. They have to be giving him credit for Rhodes’ win over Tagg, but even that when combined with the losses shouldn’t put him above Cedeno. The next guy, Jayden Scott of UNC, has wins over #13 (Schwartz) and #26 (Treanor), and has only lost to guys in the top 20. You got something against the ACC, @Jon_Kozak ?
