I didn’t realize RTC’s usually had an associate head coach and recruiting coordinator. I guess they just copy pasted from the team site and added Zo.

Well I believe no NCAA wrestler has died cutting weight since 1997, so I’d consider that a win. But I think that could change if we went to matside weigh ins.

Tried to look up what Daddy Fix has been up to and not much luck after a brief search. His xtwitter account still says Cowboy RTC coach, but he hasn’t posted since 2023. Random note - one of his last posts was in response to Tyler Caldwell - but apparently Caldwell’s account has been suspended for violating xtwitter rules

I don’t think we need matside weigh ins. For one, IMO it seems weight cutting at least in D1 is not as bad as it used to be. Yes, many people still cut weight, but I bet it’s rare that guys are “forced” to by the coaches. But the reason people cut weight is because it is often beneficial, as long as you’re not cutting too much. So the biggest reason against matside weigh ins for me is that even with matside weigh ins, guys will still cut weight. So IMO it actually makes it more dangerous, as I wouldn’t be surprised to see someone die after wrestling a 2TB match or something. In addition, assuming you need to weigh in with shoes, shoe companies will try to make the lightest shoes possible which could sacrifice safety. After that, I think the logistics issues are legitimate. Think of how much time this would add to NCAA’s for example. Although I suppose we could get rid of overtime and go to freestyle criteria to offset it…

I don’t think that was the point of it. I’d say the point was to confirm that he did actually leave and where he’s going. I don’t really get the hate for the lack of details, he shared way more than almost any other coach would have IMO

He probably made more at OSU than as an athlete at NLWC, but he may also make more as a coach at NLWC than an athlete at NLWC. I don’t think his full salary from OSU is public though, I just looked and unless I did something wrong it was coming up as only like $20K (and DT “only” like $200K)
