  1. Did he injure anyone today?
  2. Barr + God/Jesus did it
  3. What did Fernandes do?
  4. There are 4 guys who have beaten the guy who beat Spencer Lee since last season. If there’s a “weak” weight, it’s probably 133
  5. Yeah. I don’t ever want to see Iowa fans complain about Angel Rivera, he gave them a bit of a gift there
  6. 125 is not weak, it’s deep with everyone beating up on each other. Berginc beat Liam Cronin and Brandon Kaylor last year. If Davis beat him 5-1 I’d give him a shot to AA.
  7. Injury default or MFF?
  8. Voinovich not looking great. Is he injured? Guessing we see 2 Ferraris in the lineup in January
  9. And then it looked like he tried to return the favor…
  10. I’m telling you, I’m pretty sure Tom thinks “the questions should be asked” of UNI’s AD David Harris…
  11. Disagree, but you are welcome to your opinion
  12. Gambling suspensions aren’t really to prevent cheating, they’re more to prevent throwing games.
  13. Didn't see a prior thread, apologies if I missed it. Flo put the replay on youtube: Weight NC State Wrestler Army West Point Wrestler Result 125 #2 Jakob Camacho #32 Ethan Berginc W MD 9 - 1 133 #24 Jarrett Trombley #24 Braden Basile W DEC 7 - 6 141 #10 Ryan Jack #73 Logan Brown W TF5 19 - 4 7:55 149 #6 Jackson Arrington #74 Matthew Williams W TF5 17 - 2 4:35 157 #7 Ed Scott #54 Nathan Lukez W DEC 14 - 8 165 #52 AJ Kovacs #57 Dalton Harkins L SV-1 4 - 1 174 #21 Alex Faison #38 Gunner Filipowicz L DEC 4 - 2 184 #37 Dylan Fishback #16 Ben Pasiuk W MD 15 - 7 197 #2 Trent Hidlay #92 Daniel Lawrence W FALL 4:31 285 #8 Owen Trephan #66 Lucas Stoddard W MD 17 - 4 Final score ended up as a blowout but there were some good matches. The Camacho/Berginc match was a lot closer than the 9-1 final score and an example of the new scoring resulting in majors that wouldn't have been majors before. Was 1-1 until midway through the third period before Camacho got a TD, and then got 4 NF in the closing seconds. There was also a great scramble earlier in the match which ended in a stalemate that starts right around 1:09:00. Some calls in Trombley/Basile that could have gone either way. After a sequence starting around 1:24:50, they award Trombley a TD but then a reversal for Basile. Army challenges and they change the call to just 3 for Basile (which looked like the right call IMO). Then later, after a sequence starting around 1:28:20 and Basile leading 6-5 with 0:40 seconds in the match, they give Trombley a reversal. I don't hate that call but I think there's an argument it wasn't beyond reaction time. Then the scramble continues with Trombley hanging onto a leg but fighting off his back. They stop it to call stalling but don't give any points to Basile which is held up after review. I kinda agree with Spey's comments, I think it should have been at least an escape for Basile which would have sent it to SV, especially because there was a time when Trombley's grip broke. But I think there's also an argument for Basile to have been given a reversal and maybe even NF.
  14. Yeah but everyone told Nelson (a 23/24 year old adult) to take the under on Iowa football
  15. Has to be a grad student right?
  16. I think one potential argument was that if the COL difference was significant, a “pay cut” could actually even result in more net money (plus of course his other reasons for taking the job). I guess some online calculators only put the different at about 11%, but I don’t care enough to argue any more about it.
  17. I still think putting Crookham at #5 as intermat did is worse than putting him at #1 though. They're probably both "wrong."
  18. No, I doubt the cost of living was much of a factor for him. But people have said he "took a pay cut" to go there, which based on the COL differences likely isn't really the case (depending of course on exactly how much he made vs is making now)
  19. O'Toole. For that reason I don't necessarily agree that, particularly 165, was "watered down."
  20. You keep saying 2021 was “watered down,” but 1 of Wittlake’s losses in that tournament was to a guy that likely wouldn’t have even been in it if not for the “free year.” He still has some decent wins since though. He beat Austin Murphy this year who finished R12 during the “watered down” year. Last year he beat Hawks twice and Tate Samuelson who both finished R16.
  21. Calling my shot now. I think PSU breaks the points record this year (maybe with some help from 3 point takedowns)
  22. Do you think any of these guys could beat Travis Wittlake right now?
  23. I’ll take this as you admitting much of what you were describing is actually stalling, just trying to make it look like it’s not…
