  1. I assume is in reference to this: https://news.yahoo.com/dci-lied-agents-suspects-target-214003907.html Dresser offered some more details, including “I hope these athletes take the state of Iowa to the cleaners”
  2. He cares. Did you see his reaction when Nagao got pinned? Now that was funny
  3. These would be my probabilities: Starocci 99% Brooks 95% Kerk 80% Haines 40% Bartlett 30% Mesenbrink 15% Davis 8% So you multiply them all together for the total probability right? That would be 0.1%
  4. Low probability sure, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see seven. They have two near locks, one additional heavy favorite, and one modest favorite. Then the only undefeated guy in a wide open field, and two underdogs that are certainly capable of winning. And that’s not even counting Nagao who has a non-zero chance of winning.
  5. Taylor/Ghadiali is probably a tossup, gimme Ghadiali if it happens. Lol, no one is saying Hendrickson should be ranked/seeded higher than Kerk. Once he gets the required matches he’ll come in at #1. I was just pointing out that Hendrickson has faced some good competition. I think a match requirement to be ranked/seeded makes sense but sure, we can probably debate the number it should be.
  6. Ghadiali is probably better than anyone Kerk has wrestled sans Davison.
  7. Pyle
  8. Lol at him thinking he can still wrestle this year. Maybe NJCAA?
  9. I could be wrong, but I could’ve sworn I saw somewhere that Saldate is actually pronounced Sal-date, not Sal-dah-tay?
  10. Haines/Saldate match synced up with Byers radio call. I’m not on the “Byers is the best out there” bandwagon but he was just a wee bit better than the college kids…
  11. Wyoming maybe but not really for the rest. SDSU finished 13th, UNI 15th, NDSU 23rd last season. @WrestlingFan89 seems to be talking about if they actually went D1. That’s a different convo, I thought we were talking about how they’d do as is.
  12. Define success though. IMO, at best you’re looking at finishing around 40th at NCAA’s. Probably a few guys they could win a match or 2 at NCAA’s, but that’s about it. Maybe 1 AA like every 5 years or so.
  13. I believe he stayed for a full year and redshirted
  14. Levesseur did attend U of Minnesota at first. But sounds like we agree. There are certainly guys that can compete in D1 that might not have gotten recruited so choose to go D2/D3 instead. But 4x champs from decent states are going to have been recruited by D1 schools, unless they have off the mat issues.
  15. If that were true, my point is that’s very rare. Is it true though? If Wells redshirted then Nagao would only have 2 years left
  16. I said I used the qualifier that you don’t usually see 4x state champs from decent wrestling states (of which I’d include Minnesota) go D2 or D3 right out of HS. Did a very brief search and can’t seem to find the list of names, but I believe it’s a single digit list for Minnesota. Have any of them gone D2 or D3 out of HS?
  17. No I mean didn’t he go to high school in Minnesota?
  18. That’s why I added “from decent wrestling states.” Isn’t Wells from Minnesota?
  19. Yeah I would think now would not be the right time.
  20. But he was a 4x state champ right? Not too many 4x champs especially from decent wrestling states that go D2 or D3 right out of HS, although some go later
  21. They do count for seeding, so yes they matter. But I don’t understand why they won’t just use one of the services or at least aggregate them. I may be misremembering, but wasn’t there something last year where a coach left RBY off the rankings even though he was eligible?
  22. Flo goes Stanich, Ramos, Davis as 1, 2 and 3 in latest rankings. Don’t believe Intermat has updated yet
  23. Triple header was a success? Kinda surprised Iowa/Purdue got more than PSU/Michigan
