  1. Got a video of this happening recently? I can’t think of many examples. If you can tell they are actually twisting it against the joint, I’d agree it should be a penalty. But a lot of the times I can think of he’s moreso just holding the ankle for dear life and it gets twisted up in the process of the other guy trying to get a takedown
  2. I think the argument (which I’d agree with, but overall am OK with reversals staying as 2) is that they are now more important, not less
  3. Gonna have to watch this one…
  4. If my goal was to AA, I would much rather be at 133
  5. That’s silly. He’s a world champion, and he didn’t look overwhelmed against Andonian.
  6. Love Gibbons’ call there. “If you’ve got both legs in, you’re really not working for a turn. Gotta pick a side.”
  7. Oh yeah, I forgot all the people crying about it lol
  8. If no Hines was kinda surprised Lehigh didn’t go with McGonagle at 141
  9. What rankings is BTN using? I thought neither Flo nor Intermat had Crookham as #1
  10. 0-0 after 1. Steen starts down in the second and gets a quick escape
  11. There’s also a section for “concussion evaluation timeouts” after injury timeouts
  12. Seymour vs Steen at 125. No Stanich, Davis, McHenry or Howard.
  13. Rulebook says a concussion evaluation timeout is unlimited with no mention of a minimum time, and that the wrestler’s institution’s medical personnel is the primary authority.
  14. I think his point was that Mendez was in fact part of the 2022 class…
  15. He didn’t have a conditioning problem winning junior worlds, but he looked kinda gassed to me against Cardenas. Sick? Jet lag? I dunno, but conditioning did appear to be an issue
  16. Was before my time, but what exactly were they doing at Hofstra and Binghamton? Were they considerably better than say, Campbell is now?
  17. The 2019 class was headlined by Kerkvliet…
  18. There was also Kerkvliet, who was on campus in Columbus but followed Snyder to PSU
  19. This doesn’t necessarily mean Cael was “really going after him,” but according to old Flo articles, Mendez had PSU in his top 5. Can’t find anything on Bouzakis but I seem to recall them being in on him too. Not sure about Feldman. Interesting tweet/post here looking back at that class:
  20. Well this goes back to my question of how are we defining “easiest”? Sure, if we’re defining it as how hard it would be for someone else to beat the top 1 or 2 guys, sure I’ll admit it’s probably 125. But 125 is super deep. 133 for example has 3 studs (I’m counting Crookham), 3 or 4 pretty good guys, then kinda drops off a cliff. In fact the 4/5/6 guys (Nagao, Orine and Latona, I’m counting Crookham as #3, silly for Intermat to have him as #5 IMO), all have losses to 3 different guys currently in the 125 field.
  21. Executing a counter takedown is not stalling, but you need to also be working your own, it’s literally under the definition of stalling - “continue wrestling in an attempt to secure a takedown.” Just waiting for the other guy to do something is not attempting to secure a takedown. Running off the mat is also stalling (it’d be fleeing the mat in high school), but so is backing up repeatedly.
  22. And said “we,” an easy sign of a PSU fan
  23. I think at least one of Pletcher, Moore or Sasso probably wins in 2020. But we’ll never know
  24. I was probably considered a naysayer in there, but it was mostly in response to the numerous posts saying how awesome he was. I thought he was fine but he was basically coaching the guys. Honestly I’d take Pyles over him.
  25. It’s weird that the guy that beat Spencer Lee (and would have beaten him without the pin) already has 4 losses this year (3 to NCAA opponents) yet so many people keep saying 125 is weak.
