  1. Pretty sure this board (or maybe PSU one) posted a tweet of him saying he was going 174.
  2. If you have people on ignore, you also don't see their reactions to posts. More reason to do so...
  3. I remember he had Hamiti in big trouble in their match and foolishly took bottom in the 3rd to lose by rideout.
  4. Fun fact - all our surfboards in Dekalb were made of corn cobs
  5. Some of my fondest memories when I went to NIU was surfing in the Pacific Ocean. Dekalb is a beach town through and through
  6. I feel like Nagao could still be in the fight for 141, unless he got hurt. Seems naturally bigger than Davis to "grow into" 141.
  7. That was strictly for the team as he was a lock for the title. He wrestled a bunch at 134 for freestyle
  8. On this very page bnwtwg gave multiple examples of him digging out of a hole. We can also add the dual against Ramos where he was getting his butt kicked and came back to pin him. I distinctly remember a clutch comeback at junior worlds as well, wanna say the gold medal match his last year? I'm not saying Lee doesn't have issues when things aren't going his way, but now people are turning it too far in the other direction - saying he always wilts under pressure. Truth is somewhere in the middle in my opinion...
  9. Woods always seems like he's enjoying himself, win or lose. Gotta love that
  10. From some other posts though, aren't some (or most?) of these of Russian parents but grew up in France?
  11. You know what sealed it for me for Hidlay? At NCAAs this year (when he was doing a great job on the mic and learning the trade) he was on the floor by himself during the finals. He was SO FRICKING PASSIONATE during Vincent Robinson's match, hooting and hollering and giving 140% support to his NC State teammate - yelling, shadow wrestling, jumping up and down and looking like a half lunatic. You could just see how much he cared, and when Robinson won he and some teammates went nuts. I spent almost as much time watching him as I did the match.
  12. That was a FILTHY headlock, that Japanese wrestler was 2xu17 and 2xu20 world champ. Maybe never lost an international match?
  13. As it should be, they are the cream of the crop.
  14. OK thanks, that sure did look like 4 on the exposure when watching live but I'm not going to act like I remember where his legs/knees were. Taz did not look good and gassed just as badly as UWW. He's vulnerable if he wrestles like that again.
  15. I was very confused how the scoring went down in that Taz match, can someone explain? It was 9-4 Taz after the lost challenge, then UWW got a TD and the didn't change the score. To me it's 9-6. Then UWW got 4 exposure, making it 10-9 UWW. Then Taz came up on top to be 10-10. UWW would have had criteria then. Was the exposure not 4? Was that TD after the challenge not counted for some reason?
  16. Why on God's Green Earth was Kadiev shooting constantly with a lead on an incredible counter wrestler with under a minute left? How do you not know match strategy at this level?
  17. Probably too early for this, but do we have mat assignments for the first round of action tomorrow? Just wondering if there are a couple matches on each mat before an American is up, every 15 minutes of sleep counts at 4:30!
  18. Nice job, that's an intriguing match up.
  19. What is the connection with Joe and NIU? Pains me to say this as an NIU alum, but that's a big step down academically.
  20. Saunders has been around seemingly forever so I'm quite surprised he still has eligibility - especially with Cornell's rules.
  21. I never even heard of Hiram and I have no idea where "Western State" is - sounds like a made up college for a National Lampoons flick. And being an IL native, the fact that SIU Carbondale had 3 D1 national champs is pretty damn mind blowing. Times have certainly changed in the college wrestling world.
  22. Nope, can't get in either. I think GMF may be trying wrestlestat.com and not wrestlingstats.com - two different (and valuable) websites.
  23. He was massive at 133, so that makes sense.
  24. Stanich started his college career at 125/57, I have to think that he's done moving up weight classes.
  25. That top4 in 2009 is absolutely incredible, going with that. Especially since I believe Leen and Gillespie had already been champs, this isn't a situation where someone places 7/8 as a frosh and becomes a monster later. Didn't Pami make the finals too?
