  1. The combination of strength and hips from Randy Lewis must have been insane. He did stuff that should not work in JV matches against Olympians.
  2. Right now the 3rd place finisher can outscore the champion in a tournament format. I believe the proposed rule change would take this out of the equation. For instance, Hendrickson outscored a couple of champions this year due to his pins.
  3. Watched McCade coach at the Big 12 tourney this year. That guy makes Mark Manning look tame.
  4. 141 - Randy Lewis vs Jim Gibbons (Dual Meet
  5. I don’t know about that. He looked like a full sized 133 this year. He bulked up.
  6. Wouldn't make much sense with Raugusin there though...
  7. Guys should watch David Carr & KOT if they want to learn how to win & lose with class and humility.
  8. We all know that Askren jumped levels his last two years and was great. His dismantling of Jake Herbert was a work of art. Both Askren and Ruth were better folkstyle wrestlers than freestyle. Ruth did not only lose to DT in freestyle, he lost to Clayton Foster, Keith Gavin, Jake Herbert..
  9. I believe that he graduated and is looking for a grad school. Come to Brookings Chris! Coach Hahn can develop guys with the best in the country. Brand new training facility that is top 5 in the country.
  10. If we are talking about these guys at their apex here are a few more that should be considered: John Smith (wrestled 134 in college so would slot into the 141 spot currently), Tom Brands (wrestled 134 in college so would slot into the 141 spot currently), Dan Gable (wrestled 137 so would slot into the 141 or 149 spot)
  11. Chris Cannon in the portal
  12. If you are gonna put Dake at 141 might as well put DT at 165
  13. McKee ain’t in the picture boss man. Unless he wears West Virginia warmups nowadays…
  14. The Hodge trophy is an award that encapsulates Dan Hodges wrestling prowess and character. It makes sense that the award would have some of the "intangible" traits that Hodge had. If a wrestler wants to win the Hodge trophy, they just need to look up the criteria before the season.
  15. Izzak will have 1 year left, correct?
  16. Isn't that Labriola?
  17. 1. Brooks 2. Starrocci 3. O'Toole 4. Vito 5. Carr 6. Alirez 7. Fix 8. Mekhi 9. Kerkvliet 10. Sasso
  18. He did not wrestle at Big 12's
  19. Maybe the most impressive performance dismantling Fix & RBY but definitely not the best NCAA wrestler of the last 10 years when the field contains Kyle Snyder, Dake, DT, Cox, etc.
  20. Congrats to Mason. Hoping he can catch fire internationally and become the US rep. His win over Zare showed the upside he is capable of.
  21. Sammy Sasso deserves to be mentioned. Guy has been tough as nails for years going 2-5-2 at NCAA's.
  22. I am as big of a Lamer fan as anyone - dad Chad was a 3x national champion at SDSU. Not sure that Legend is a title contender at 149 though. Maybe a PAC-12 title but I don't even see that as likely with Parco there.
  23. Yep. It would be clownish if I said that Max Dean was a terrible wrestler - which I did not say and do not think. He’s a great wrestler that happened to benefit greatly from two calls in two separate matches that went his way. I’m not asking him to return his medal, just think that is relevant information to assess his “underperformance” this year.
  24. In honor of Jimmy, guys that were overrated: John Smith, Jordan Burroughs, Cael Sanderson, Dan Gable
  25. Nope. I think Max Dean is an excellent wrestler and a couple hammer on top. He is very talented and has won a ton of high level matches. At NCAA’s last year he was gifted calls in both those matches.
