  12. Virginia storming back. going to be a fun finish
  13. I think he was fixing to start a career in medical sales.
  14. I have 8 at 197
  15. Who would you kick off to include Nick?
  16. Ruth was a hammer. Maybe he should be 4th or 5th... Man, PSU has had a run of studs....
  17. So to conclude the in depth research by a team of skilled professionals, weight range has no conclusive bearing on dominance. Dominance has occurred at the lightweights, middle weights and upper weights.
  18. Wasn't Zahid sitting out because of his cocaine habit that year?
  19. He was a 2x champ that did not make the cut along with Nick Lee, Vincenzo & Jeff Prescott. Mark Hall, Jim Martin and Frank Molinaro deserve to be mentioned as 1Xer's with great careers.
  20. While Sloan did lose to Hoffman twice last year, he was not exactly the picture of health. He was competing fairly banged up last season. Cardenas did just have a solid win over Beard but has also lost to a 184 pounder (Coleman), Beard & Amos this year. I am biased but I think Sloan gets it done. Drawing Truax out of his quarter is about as favorable as a guy can hope for.
  21. It's possible that Brooks would not have won NCAA's that year but I (along with a slew of others) would have been picking him.
  22. Looking through the list of 3 time NCAA champions https://www.fancowrestling.com/multiple-time-ncaa-wrestling-champions/ I count: 18 lower weight wrestlers 23 middle weight wrestlers 9 upper weight wrestlers
  23. J'Den Cox won it at 197 as a true freshman.
  24. I know I am in the minority but I believe that DT is the best Penn State wrestler ever. I would go 1- DT 2- Zain 3 - Nolf 4- Nickal 5- Brooks 6- Starrocci 7- Ruth 8 - RBY 9- McCoy 10- Wright
  25. Since 1990 the true Freshman that have won NCAA titles are Pat Smith (mid weight), Teyon Ware (low/mid), Dustin Schlatter (mid weight, Kyle Dake (lower/mid), J'Den Cox (upper weight) and Myles Martin (mid/upper weight), Spencer Lee (lower weight), Mark Hall (mid), Yianni (mid), AJ Ferrari (upper). I may have missed someone but as you can see the true freshman national champions are pretty evenly dispersed from lower to upper weights.
