Mamadov not being in the field certainly helps his chances. He seems to have developed a really good series when guys are in either sitting the corner or going chest wrap. However, I still think he is very volatile so I would probably take the field over him. I still think Amouzad is the best guy in the world if he can learn to control his weight or if that is even possible for him.
-
Zahid looked rather bad at that ranking series if I recall he had to pull a win against China out of his butt. I believe Ishiguro was on a heat too he pinned Amine and then got the first takedown against Yazdani.
-
will be pulling for Ohio state or lehigh. I think was Lehigh has done with those light to middleweights has to be enticing for anyone his size. Seems like he will probably be a 141/149 in college.
-
I think Basch said they were issuing refunds

I believe Abasghadzi returned to action recently. I would love to see him win the spot at Russian Nats. Ibragimov did give up a trap arm and like 5 turns to the kyrgestan guy at the ranking series so I guess we could hope Real could go to work on top. Abasghadzi has never been the guy he was at 61 at 65 but skill for skill he will be the best guy they can throw out in my opinion.

I think the workaround is that college guys are not allowed in the same practice room. I agree it's a very grey area. I know Marcus trained a lot at Ohio state prior to his commitment.
-
Both PJ and Marcus have voiced in interviews that most if not all of their training had been at home with their clubs' teams until they move in on the 28th. They are both within 5 hours of PSU I believe I think they are hyper fixated on what Jax has been doing.
-
Sounds like its PSU, Okie state, Nebraska. So I am expecting either he commits quickly to PSU or we do not know for a long time so he can train there.
-
Do you expect a Yazdani/Amouzad growth trajectory? or do you think he settles in at 79.
-
I am by no means an Iowa fan and do not think the Brands get the most out of developing their guys but that mans obsession with trying to dunk on that program is truly insane. He is good for the sport... I think though he drives attention at least.
-
I think he has an incredibly bright future. The german he beat at cadets is a behemoth of a cadet and he held position against him which is something Melvin miller could not do. I was watching Wagins u23 Euro matches and thats what made me think of him. Iran seems to have really good depth at 74kg just nobody ready to crack that top 3 level quite yet.
-
My Iran friends has Shamisipour been wrestling at all this year?

Not much to add I will say from what I have seen from Kiyooka despite taking a few losses he seems to have really evolved his ability to score when guys are in on his legs. He has a great chest wrap and crotch lock now that will be a super tough ask for Real but I think both guys would score some points. I've seen a lot made of Sakamoto's asian championships performance but his losses were to the north korean who could very well be spencers biggest test at worlds (I am thinking him RBY and Mongush) and then the mongolian who beat RBY at the ranking series although I would expect roman to reverse that result next time. I believe the loss to the north korean was 12-6 and a fall to the mongolian who seems like he has tricky hips so I am wondering if he hipped over on something. Sakamoto's ability to create his own offense is still a big question mark for me but he has insane hips and is really really good front head and pretty good at getting himself in that position. Last I think Takahashi is Japans best guy at 74kg I know probably crazy to say because they have Takatani but Takahashi wrestled mitchell with a bum wheel for most of the match and still beat him. He is also only 21 so the rate of progression is probably well ahead of Takatani at this point.

Melvin has probably surpassed Bo in the perception of skill level as a recruit. Nowhere near the hype obviously.
-
It sounds like that was part of it unless I am miss interpreting and he was not allowed to train at the RTC because of compliance but that does not make sense.
-
Paraphrasing what willie has said so far "Bo wanted to go out and train at Iowa and wanted flights out there. Iowa did not allow that because of compliance issues. Tom Told Bill Bassett not to tell him how to run his program."
-
As much as I hope it's not, I think it's going to be PSU. Pyles made a cryptic youtube video discussing that he caught wind about it Friday and essentially said Cael does not give up on recruits and then went on to say nothing about OKst. PSU will also be a seamless lineup fit at 149. There would be a ton of overlap at Oklahoma state not that I don't think he would make his way in the lineup, but Vega,Raney,Robiedau,Bassett would all be in that 149-157 range.

watched flows vid of the Bachmann's summer room. Freddy is look very very good after putting on a little size. Dom Morrison is also looking like an absolute dog.
-
I will try and find some time to do USA vs Iran and USA vs Japan awesome breakdown.
-
I believe they will do 1-2 world team camps in Colorado Springs and then all go out to acclimate together prior. For the most part I think they train at the RTC's though.

@PortaJohn have you ever experienced the cocktagon at psu?
-
He has since said he does not need surgery and will be competing. Sounds like a delayed wrestle off presumably against bhizoev.

I was going through Euros and noticed Mongush and spencer had a common opponent and was diving a bit deeper into mongush and it made me think Worlds may not be the walk in the park I thought it was for Spencer but I wanted to set this up more like a dual format than just those two. 57kg: Lee (2x u20 world champ olympic silver) vs Mongush (u23 world champ 2025 senior euros champ) common opponent Bazargonov spencer won 6-3 Mongush won 5-0. Mongush also notably lost in the finals to to suda 8-8 at 61kg who is probably our 61kg's biggest opp at worlds. I will go spencer here but I think Mongush is his toughest opponent and he is on a pretty wild growth trajectory. 1-0 61kg: Jax/Vito (senior gold and bronze)/(cadet silver) vs Uguev(2x world 1x olympic gold at 57kg) Uguev still won euros this year in a controversial one to Haryutunyan. Suda that I mentioned above is probably our toughest opponent I think either guy we send beats Uguev. 2-0 65kg: Real (ranking series bronze) vs Mamedov (junior world champ senior bronze) I love Reals trajectory and how freely he has been wrestling but Mamedov is a very unique challenge that I do not think Real can overcome right now. 2-1 70kg: PJ (Junior bronze) vs Baev (world gold, junior gold, u23 silver) PJ's gives him a shot against anyone I think but Yianni got to his legs and finished pretty surgically once he got through the head hands and Baev is wrestling as good as anyone at any weight right now. I think Baev takes this one 2-2. 74kg: Carr (cadet bronze, Junior gold) vs sounds like sidakov will be going (3x world gold 1x olympic gold) Sidakov did lose to valiev at Euros prior to the injury which should give some hope that he is becoming more human. That being said Carr did not have many answers to Salkazonov who has always been a tier below sidakov so I am not ready to predict that level of upset until I see it. 3-2 Russia. 79kg: Haines (pan am champ) vs Usmanov (junior silver world gold) Usmanov is a monster I think Levis inexperience internationally may prove troublesome for him but a the same time he is going to present a pace that the European guys will not like. Usmanov is a monster though I would pick him against whomever America sent aside from maybe Kyle. 4-2 Russia. 86kg: Zahid (world bronze, junior silver) vs Naifanov/Kadiev (junior gold,u23 silver, 2x world bronze)/(2x junior gold) (the russians on X think Kadiev is the second coming however to my knowledge Naifonov beat him last time they wrestled and he was the rep at euros so I am expecting him to be there. Whoever they send I think Zahid is the best wrestler at this weight. The only question is if his cardio allows him to be the best for 6 minutes. 4-3 Russia 92kg: I am not sure who Russia sends here Karugliev is their best guy but he wrestles for greece Trent should clear whoever goes at this weight perhaps Kadiev bumps. 4-4 97kg: snyder vs Sadulaev we have seen this one before one guy appears to still be close to peak of his powers and the other has lost to a 20 year old from japan this year so I do not expect the upset we always hope for 5-4 Russia 125kg: Wyatt kills whoever they send 5-5
-
This is awesome.
-
If this helps other guys to have the chance to train with more Russians, I think it is a good thing. Snyder is no longer in a place to compete with Sadulaev imo so from a USA on Russia standpoint I do not think it really matters. If Gable can help get more Russians to do RAF that's also awesome.
