  1. is that hotshot freshman from Stillwater high or Mini???
  2. Khabib is doing a wrestling tournament in abu dhabi 4 guys per weight not sure if its a bracket or RR. what I have seen announced 97kg: Snyder,Sadulev,Azarpira,Taz (I know this weight is definitive) 61kg: Uguev,Vito,Ono,Abasghadzi (saw this from Che so not 100% sure)
  3. I believe he has actually competed at worlds and no limit makes it interesting because I had heard at what time he was cutting some weight to make 265
  4. Great shout one of my favorite guys to watch and I really think his style only gets better the bigger he gets.
  5. wanted to highlight some guys that made the switch relatively recently from wrestling to MMA Meredith: 7-1 PFL Nick Picc: 8-1 Fury FC Jacobe smith: 11-0 (I think he can be a champ he is really really good) UFC Archie Colgan: 12-0 PFL
  6. If he is struggling to get MMA fights I guess its cool hes trying to compete a lot. I would imagine most regional guys do not want to fight him. I think his base already seems a bit better than Bo's although that could be accentuated by the extreme skill disparity between heavyweight and every other division.
  7. I believe they have 4 kids on the roster that have won college opens and Miller and Herring are not in that 4. I think Miller would pretty comfortably win 1-2 matches at NCAA this year with a ceiling to maybe get on the podium with the right draw although I would probably predict r16. Jax AA's at minimum at 133/141 and I think Bo probably AA's at 141 I do think he is small at 149 so hypothetically as an NCAA lineup it would look something like. 125: Eli Herring/Austin Carfley/Sheamus Regan DNQ 133: Jax AA 1-6 (cant see him losing to anyone aside from Blaze,Davino,Ayala,Byrd,Crookham I would pick him against most if not all) 141: Sam Herring 1-2 r24(that may be ambitious) 149: Bo Bassett 3-r12 (Would not pick him over shayne or Henson probaly a favoirte against Frost,Wasilewski, gioffre,Stiles,Jamison and lachlan feel like toss ups to me) 157: Jackson Butler DNQ 165: Melvin Miller 7-r24 (Do not see him beating Dee,Mitch,Caliedno,Brignola,Blaze,Minto I think he falls into the Garvin, ruiz,Downey,Scoles tier 174: O'Farril 0-2 (I think he could potentially qualify) 184: Pensiero DNQ 197: Not sure DNQ 285: Caleb Rodriguez DNQ Not sure how many points that lineup would score
  8. Main ones for me are Blaze,Wesbster,Figs,Aj,Sinclair if he counts since he was 197 last year.
  9. Khalili and Yousefi should do very well, Do not think Yousefi can beat Levi but could get silver in the field. I think Khalili has a shot at PJ. Rahmani, I think has an easier path at u23's than u20's although I am not sure if Kadiev is going or not. 65/74 are just going to be really hard weights regardless of who you are they are comparable to senior worlds imo. Azimi vs Barr should be a very good match, and I do not know who I would favor. Kassimbek likely dominates if he is going but I think silver is pretty wide open at 125. Feels like a team that should get 6-7 medals to me could definitely push USA because we are going to have issues at 97 and 125.
  10. Is there any historical record of the junior russian national bracket he reportedly got bronze in?
  11. Would love to see Alirez back in action healthy. I myself often forget the absolute heater he was on leading into trials.
  12. Thats where NHS was leaning as well. I just thought brock looked super thin at 79kg this summer and beau has been around 165/174 for awhile now.
  13. They should try hard and get Joey and Fred to come along with Waters.
  14. He was at graham until his junior year I believe
  15. All very true, also wonder if 97kg is an option if he was using, I would imagine he's going to get smaller to some degree. I wonder if he can skirt the rules by training with guys at American top team or something of that nature.
  16. purely speculating on my part but if Brooks can come back for 2028 I wonder if his intention is to go 97 and Snyders is to go 125 and greg is aware of that.
  17. He seemed to have Carter quite puzzled at trials until oxygen capacity got the better of him and carter was right there with Kyle. I actually think it's probably a very good match.
  18. I thought brock looked really small compared to Henckel at trials and the open. I worry he may be too small for 184.
  19. I believe they both are already certified for 174 so I am guessing brock is going 165 and beau 174.
  20. I tend to take what DC says with a grain of salt, but he did look really good in that training assuming Sad was going relatively hard.
  21. I think Bo would tech/pin him in both realistically (I am not a huge fan of Bo).
  22. add pat downey + jake varner!!!
  23. agree on both sentiments, very fortunate draw but going in I probably would have picked Sujeet 10 out of 10 times. Sujeet was coming off of smoking Tevanyan and dudaev at the ranking series. I have been extremely pessimistic about Real since he won the spot, but he proved me wrong big time.
  24. Part of my reasoning for dake is that he has beaten kougi in the past at 74kg and I think both guys are probably most optimal at 79 at this time. Nohkodi I think was probably not in the same form this year he had torn his ACL at last years worlds so I do not know how much time he actually spent on the mat, generally aggressive recovery is 8-9 moths if everything goes well. As for usmanov and I have not seen a ton of people discuss it but he is either too big for 79 now or he lost a step. Saipudinov killed him in repechage and he had absolutely nothing for levi. I believe he narrowly won his match prior as well. More so my thought was if you give levi, kyle,JB the same draw I think they all get to the same point maybe JB or kyle win it KOT I am not as sure of. I think Hamiti could have a very promising freestyle career as well but he definitely has areas he needs to improve upon. Its also worth noting that Ruiz beat the Ukranian who pinned evloev (evloev pinned kougi this year) and only lost to Nohkodi 2-1 so Ruiz is also very much in the mix imo.
  25. Nobody that was active this year at the weight could argue kyle,JB,KOT potentially I think JB medals against the same field and kyle wins that field not sure about KOT.
