  1. he transitioned full time to MMA he has had one fight and then another scheduled about 4 times, but his opponents keep pulling out.
  2. My favorite wrestler of all time so I am super excited. I don't see him being a super big factor being he's older and has probably not been wrestling nearly enough given his MMA transition. I am none the less super excited to see him compete.
  3. It sucks for Coleman and he seems like a great guy. That being said no program is going to turn down David Taylor, especially when you couple in the financial backing that came with him. The timing is unfortunate for Coleman with the main jobs being filled prior to his departure but there will be openings and are current jobs for him. As mentioned, the assistant spot at Rutgers as well as the developmental job for the cadet and junior guys which is a pretty sought after position. He will bounce back, I'm sure it stings now but when the dust settles it should fuel him to just be an even better coach and show Okie state what they missed out on.
  4. From @Husker_Du 's last pod it sounds like they are offering guys a lot to flip but it seems like kids are just rather disinterested in the program. They are also dealing with two teams reporting them for tampering and reaching out before guys enter the portal which is a bag of worms. For these young guys I think that they need to see you can win there and by win I don't mean AA I mean win it all because with the level these kids are out now it feels like it's probably all or nothing for them. Outside of Spencer they really have not shown that in recent years.
  5. Crazy to think Imar was potentially two Vincenzo joseph inside trips away from maybe being a top 3 all time college wrestler. He would have been 112-1.
  6. Really interested in Ramierz and Mutarelli.
  7. I know the cut was difficult for Haines and as of late it seems like over cutting is a bad thing. Haines seemed so strong at 157 and so hard to get out of position that I wonder if it's actually the perfect weight for him and that he may struggle as he moves up. When I say struggle, I don't mean he won't be a top guy I just mean he may not be THE guy.
  8. I know he intends to try and make the team at 61kg I feel like starting at 141 and growing into 149 would be a good move for him as for Beau man if that's who you mean by 174, I almost feel like he's going to have to be an 86kg guy come 2024 his frame is huge unless he stays super skinny like wick forever.
  9. If blaze could hold 133 (I think he's a 141) I think they could almost fit perfectly. After a red shirt I think the mantanona brothers could occupy 165/74 but big Blaze could also grow into 165. Worst case scenario would probably be marcus 141 and lemley bumping Gilcher out at 149.
  10. bleise was on an absolute heater until he wrestled Long it would seem, took out Jack and Kolodzik.
  11. oh no sorry If I was insinuating that I did not mean for the blaze brothers to be training there for any college affiliation I think micic runs pretty much his own club/camp. Its very dumb of me but I guess I never really thought of Joey and Marcus as a package deal because I pretty quickly ruled out Purdue in my brain just given Marcus's level. I was trying to say that I wonder wherever Marcus commits if Joey will then follow him and transfer.
  12. Was watching Stevans last YouTube video and both Blaze brothers were training with his team in chicago. It made me wonder if Marcus does not go to Purdue if we see Joey RS this year and then transfer to whatever school he ends up picking. I think Joey goes a bit under the radar but I think he had a great true freshman year he won some big matches like against Ed Scott and most of his losses were very thin margins with his trajectory only going up for the time being those two going to tOSU or obviously PSU feel like they could be a 30-40 point combo for 3 years.
  13. I was not really familiar with Andrew Long I think I was 11 or 12 when he was a national runner up but I just checked his wrestlestat. In 2016 he won midlands teching Ronnie Perry Steve Bleise and pinning Danny sabbatello at 141 which is two weights up from his national finals appearance. I assume given his lifestyle his training was pretty shit at this point, I cannot imagine how good this guy could have been with a decent head on his shoulders.
  14. that limp arm out of the underhook on the edge while he slips that leg in on the far side is so perfectly timed, I had to watch it like 4 times.
  15. was just listening to yianni mention how Batirov is his favorite wrestler. That time period with him and satiev hitting metzegers and cross ankle pics must have been a spectacle to behold. It feels like the Russian style has changed to a lot more outside steps and not going underneath guys quite as much.
  16. when he was a bit younger I remember him saying he trained at upj with their 125lber all the time too.
  17. I absolutely think their dominance makes it unlikely he gets valued highly if at all. The risk reward simply is not there for the bigger teams. Now in the case of the rumored Northern Colorado squad he could make them a potential podium squad and what that can do for a smaller school is absolutely enormous. I will say though while I don't want him at Ohio State the stars could align where with him there they have 5 finalists just saying.
  18. I'm not one to say recruiting a guy shows a character flaw because that's simply not true. That being said I cannot see Tom Ryan recruiting AJ and he seems very loyal to his guys, so I also do not see him throwing Geog aside.
  19. God forbid a seventeen-year-old tries to build his brand when his main consumer is probably not us forum guys, but in fact kids around his age who probably think it's very cool.
  20. off topic but I watched an interview with spencer yesterday where he said hes never had alcohol, among a slew of other things like a doughnut.
  21. I'm not sure that Kharchla is coming back unless he announced he was.
  22. he did wrestle at 70 kg for u23's but he was definitely small, I think 149 is a great spot for him this season.
  23. I think Jesse probably for sure goes 141 next year, if they get blaze, he probably goes 149 next year. I think Cannon can be a stud so I would slot him at 149 this year. I still sort hope they RS Mendez if they get Blaze but with the possibility of Sammy back, they should roll out their best lineup possible this year. Which I guess thinking about it would include Davino so maybe Jesse at 149 is the best fit. I am holding out a small glimmer of hope that Davino can get down to 125 but it seems very unlikely.
