  1. I predict we see the return of The Shoe Tongue tommyshoe.mp4.73c495107e43793db58ce14b27cd4928.mp4
  2. I would pick Steveson, KOT, and Messenbrink for pretty much everything but having to choose only one category makes each decision carry strategic importance. Neutral Offense - Hendrickson Baseline Defense - Steveson Scrambling - O'Toole Speed - Bailey Pace - Messenbrink Top - Keckeisen Bottom - Mendez Mental -Starocci
  3. You can have as many bonus predictions as you want but they're still only worth 1 point after the first prediction is racked up
  4. It's not about feeling, it's about winning this contest. Lots of folks probably think Kasak wins, so they are going against the grain with a Teemer pick to pick up "cheap" contest points.
  5. The way to win this competition is by being bold. But there isn't really anything bold about a PSU blowout. The only "bold "picks I can make are Davis beating Ayala if he wrestles, Starocci majoring rather than a straight decision, and Barr with the upset (if you can call it that). If Ayala doesn't wrestle then Davis might be in the hunt for a major or tech. SVN and Parco feel like a coin toss and I wouldn't be surprised to see flip-flopping back-and-forth results this weekend/B1Gs/NCAAs. Wt Winner Method PSU Iowa 125 Lilledahl Dec 3 0 133 Davis Dec 6 0 141 Bartlett Dec 9 0 149 Van Ness Dec 12 0 157 Teemer Dec 12 3 165 Messinbrink Major 16 3 174 Haines Dec 19 3 184 Starocci Major 23 3 197 Barr Dec 26 3 285 Kerk Major 30 3
  6. Gilman found much better competition at 65 domestically for sure. Here's to hoping for more!
  7. That's because the small programs who are most affected previously were hamstrung by the transfer-er and now are hamstrung by red tape. I remember Eastern Illinois had an academic AA and NQ the year they cut the program. The administration cited low APR because they only had 2.1 total scholarships and a couple kids transferred to B1G schools (with future success). Anyways, phuck APR. And CSU. But this was.. is... the inevitability. Death to the NCAA means death to all Olympic sports.
  8. This. Was. Awesome! Our sport needs more of this, and methinks Taylor can help turn the corner. Also, Metcalf was PUMPED! He's fairly energetic as a coach, but this seemed to bring out a little extra fire for whatever reason and that was great to see. This was a good day for our sport. Thank you David Taylor (brb kms)
  9. It was the year of our lord 2021 and no 197 had separated from the pack to lead the tribe to the promised land. The false prophet known as Buchanan was the favorite going into the season against the babe swaddled in orange and black freshman cloth. But lo he was defeated many times for the babe fired on all pistols and brought forth a six hunnid sixty five pound deadlift baby. And now the prophecy is doomed to repeat itself for 197 is the forbidden wasteland of unrecognized heavyweight talent.
  10. ok cool? Mid AA candidate loses to R12-to-mid AA candidate without a signature victory until last night is probably the most shocking result since Owings-Gable. Back to the drawing board for me I guess.
  11. Bubba was wayyyy before the portal
  12. Come to the F100 side where you will meet some of the laziest, most successful folks in your life. It is beyond mystifying (and ridiculously enraging).
  13. No way they definitely don't do it on their own, they underpay and overwork their analysts then take all the credit smh it's like you've never Corporate America'd before
  14. i swear to god if he weighs half an ounce over 197 i'm going to have an aneurysm //willie starts shoving milkshakes down @1032004's gullet to make it happen
  15. As a prominent NIL donor, I would like to know what the transfer magic number is. As part of forming my hypothesis I need to know the following data points: The average gain/deficit my team loses on a year by year basis and aggregate annual basis Year by Year basis Aggregate basis Trendlines The same data points of my comp competitors as point 1.0 The largest single season gain of any team Gross Net The largest single season loss of any team Gross Net My trendline against points 3.0 and 4.0 This data should be presented as the following: 2018 to present to account for the Transfer Portal period; this should utilize the 2017 season as YOY year zero 2021 to present to account for the NIL period 2018 to 2021 to account for pre-NIL and post-NIL trends Additional useful reference data points: Grad transfers 6th year (medical/covid/oly/other) transfers 7th year (medical/covid/oly/other) transfers Ivy transfers as an additional breakout to review potential trends of points 1 through 3 Problem statement: As a slumlord based in Iowa City I need to satiate my renters/NIL contributors banging on my door asking why buying AJ again isn't the answer so I would like to know why I am spending so much on my NIL and yet only seeing marginal, if any, net gains versus simply spending internally to develop my existing recruited talent.
  16. That seems like days worth of work to find the detailed deltas YOY of transfers but I'm not going to stop you lol
  17. Super heavy lift would be going back to 2018 (technically 2017) YOY when the portal began to settle this question once and for all. Byproduct answer to the likely follow-up question would be 2021-present when NIL began. Do it before Flo steals it though now that this is in the open
  18. It wasn't about choosing Singletary over Kerk. Kerk quickly left tOSU and redirected to PSU for personal goal reasons which happened to include following Snyder. Singletary was never involved in the equation as far as Tom Ryan was concerned other than "we have a solid backup / backup plan if Kerk gets hurt or leaves."
  19. You're never going to believe the original Gladiator 2 script...
  20. Bring your popcorn for Gomez/Andonian that's going to be a fun match. They should pay them extra to open the card, the halfway point, and the closing match and all three matches would be lights out fireworks
  21. Ridge Lovett 100% hitting the daddy daddy at natty nattys
  22. If wrestling moved to a spring-only sport then I could see potential momentum for an individual followed by team champs. The hang-up is that any A-list college wrestler that would drive fan participation would likely be sitting out because they are wrestling at the US Open/Last Chance/OTT. But the real hang-up is that the NCAA season is a grind no matter when it starts because the finish is brutal - the physical toll, the weight cutting, the academics, the lack of social life, all of it... and that includes room guys/backups because as @Caveira mentioned most everyone would bump a weight after the grind.
  23. What does a college folkstyle 184 have to do with this conversation? Time to hit the gym short stack
  24. Umm I'm using empirical evidence. I know that can be frustrating by people who lead by keyboard emotion but if you take a really, really deep breath then you would acknowledge that Feldman is appropriately rated. He finished sixth last year, two who finished ahead are gone, he knocked off competition last year, he will continue to do so this year. He's in the running to finish as high as fourth where the top 3 are solidly locked in which is not as crazy as it sounds since 6-2=4. That's what we in the biz call "appropriately rated"
