  1. I answered your question to the best of my knowledge. You asked there still isn’t D1 wrestling in Texas. I gave you the reason why this hasn’t yet been announced. I can’t give you a place to go because I haven’t been told a place to go to contribute.
  2. There has not yet been an announcement on this. I hear there is still a fundraising figure that needs to be met for this to become a reality.
  3. It exists in Austin, and wherever WKN lives … and squared circles and bowling alleys across the world.
  4. That was long before divisions. Divisional structure wasn’t enacted until 1974 and the college/university split started in 1963. There was major college wrestling there, but it can’t be described as D1. Same with results into the 1960s with schools like UTEP and Houston competing within their own Texas league, which best I can tell, would be like a club equivalent.
  5. Sauve once showed up to our house in college for boxing night. Wasn’t a good ending when I drew his name for a go.
  6. I've also added this thing called a BBQ hack to my Traeger, it's basically a flat-top grill add-on, rather than buying a blackstone. I'm still on the fence about it, since it's a real bitch to clean.
  7. So many more moving parts than what you describe in this particular instance. Some people don't want to hear the facts, so I spared them (and the rest of the board) a long, thoughtful response because it'd just be a waste of my time. If you're interested in the process in this particular instance, my DMs are open.
  8. Wife’s old job had “points” and a store so before she left, we cashed in all those points and boom, Traeger it was. Still working on some of the nuances with various meats. I’ve crushed 3 briskets, but one smaller one left a bit to be desired (it was took short on the cook time). Sweet corn in the husk is an awesome side that I throw on the last hour of a smoke. When we do Thanksgiving here, I do a “practice bird” on Tuesday so we get some leftovers since when we host, everyone eats it all. I do finally understand why good bbq costs so much after getting a smoker.
  9. You’re so adorbs …
  10. So you, as someone with no experience in the role or how NGB social media and communication staffing works, has the experience to say it’s a piss poor excuse? Don’t accept it, that’s on you - doesn’t make it not true. You don’t have to like facts - but that’s what they are.
  11. Have you worked in the communications department there? Did you build their social media accounts and following? I’m the only one on this board with that direct experience and direct knowledge of how the responsibilities of the comms department is. So when presented with a viable truth from someone with direct experience, you would rather not believe it?
  12. Or it could simply be a manpower and training issue in that department. Which it is.
  13. Previous years, a former staffer was handling the social media graphics. That person doesn't work at USAW any longer. There have been two new hires and the most recent has been thrust into two back-to-back weekends. Maybe the simple reason is they're just now getting to it after having to get people up-to-speed on the events-related part of the gig. I've been in the role, so I speak from experience in this type of situation - not everything is some underlying agenda or conspiracy.
  14. The shower incident was also in their "parent corner" which is at the very end of their show. You endured quite a bit to get to even get to that point. I'm going to keep them on the trial run, although I know it doesn't typically fit with the type of shows I have on the network. I'll come up with a pre-loaded disclaimer on the network for them moving forward.
  15. I wouldn't consider Tommy and Kevin "trashy" but more like the conversation about wrestling you'll hear at a bar. They have plenty of good interviews, but their banter between the two of them isn't always kid-friendly. This is why the show is labeled explicit and the show notes have a disclaimer in them. It's not a show style I've typically previously included in the network, but with more and more teams doing their own thing, I'm connecting with my friend group to see if there's a benefit to having them included in my network. I may have to add a specific audio disclaimer before their show when it's within my network feed, but if there's other instances you've found on the Mat Talk Podcast Network, I can clearly address those issues @Dark Energy
  16. Ok. Site name clearly visible on mobile too.
  17. I mean, it clearly says what site it’s from in the title. Mousing over should also show you the URL.
  18. I added Bloodround to the network feed a few weeks ago as the two are friends of mine. Show is labeled explicit. It’s the only show on my network that is. Even has a disclaimer in the show notes. I rarely curse on my shows.
  19. Why not? Site has been covering the state very well for years.
  20. Want drama? Follow Indian wrestling. It’s stranger than fiction.
  21. My quibble was that as well. I did point out early "hey, If I don't know who has criteria, neither do the people in here." Criteria didn't impact too many matches overall, though, so that impact was pretty minimal, except ... when it wasn't. My partner-in-crime Bryan Hazard was probably more on the spot with the challenge review process to make sure proper credit is given.
  22. Clar transferred when Auburn dropped the program.
  23. Storm used to hang out with us in college …
  24. It's unlikely to have ever happened in the Division I tournament since the wrestlebacks fully expanded to include every first-round loser. In 1984, there was still the follow-the-leader system that would look like a full international repechage, but where the entries got pulled back in if their opponent made the semifinals. I saw a kid in D3 (18 wrestlers in the bracket) get two medical forfeits on the backside to end up placing, but that 1984 thing was surely an anomaly given that two wrestlers got hurt on the front side in that quarterbracket where Isom came back through, including Melvin Douglas.
