  1. He definitely has the personality to be in the WWE. They should market him as Razor Ramon, Jr.
  2. What does he say? And is he religious? I've never heard him do all the Jesus talk.
  3. Cocky, brash, haughty, pompous, boastful...who is it?
  4. Nah, no matter how much they call Cael Sanderson "Carl" or "Bael" they acknowledge that 159-0 with 4 NCAA titles beats Spencer. Lee, even if he wins his 4th, has lost multiple times in NCAA competition (3?), and been pinned by Piccinninininininini. That can't trump 159-0 even for the biggest Hawkeye Homer.
  5. No, I think Spencer Lee is the Iowa GOAT. I am responding to those other posters on this thread claiming it's Barry Davis or someone else instead.
  6. Spencer Lee is the GOAT according to Iowa fans. Put up a poll on Hawkeye report and list Barry David, Ed Banach, Lincoln McIlravy, whoever, against Spencer Lee and Lee will come out on top. Lee has his own dedicated tab on page on Iowa's official page...and he's still an active athlete. This is just short of erecting a lifesize 5'2 statue outside of Carver Hawkeye next to Gable's statue. I guarantee it. Call it recency bias if you want but as of 2023 Spencer Lee is considered the GOAT of Iowa Hawkeye wrestling.
  7. Would a third win over Lewis be enough to put Starocci in his own tier?
  8. But is it the best wrestling state in America, period? If no, then what state is, if you have to pick one?
  9. When was I off the board? So you admit PA is the best wrestling state?
  10. Because Iowa has been dominant for so long and taken such great pride in Iowa being the best wrestling state...and the unadulterated worship of Spencer Lee, who happens to be from PA, contradicts this Iowa-centric mindset.
  11. Go to Carver Hawkeye and survey the crowd. I guarantee 95% will say it's Spencer Lee.
  12. This doesn't make sense. If you were actually from Utah, and Utah were actually a rival of Pennsylvania in terms of wrestling I might buy it. Also, GOAT Coach and GOAT Wrestler are two very different things.
  13. He was injured by Mean Dean's bow and arrow
  14. These two teammates, wrestling at 174 and 184 are both super dominant. Both are 2x NCAA champs and have never lost a NCAA final. Carter is 55-2 career so far. Aaron is 55-3 career so far. Both are great from neutral and hammers on top, although they have slightly different styles. Who is better, in your opinion?
  15. He grew up in Saegertown, PA and Murrysville, PA. He won 3 PIAA state titles in PA and was runner-up his last year where he lost to fellow Pennsylvania Austin DeSanto.
  16. As a PA native it gives me great pride to see how Iowa fans universally recognize their GOAT wrestler is Spencer Lee, a PA boy. I hope that once he finishes his amateur career he starts his coaching career in PA. I'm sure he'll eventually push the Brands out of Iowa City, but I think they are young enough that a 25 year old Spencer won't be evicting them from their offices any time soon. How about Spencer Lee coaching at a place like Lock Haven?
  17. I will be very transparent. This rule may seem extreme but it addresses 3 tactics that almost all non-PSU wrestling fans consider dirty. The rule: "A wrestler, while on top (including while on "top from neutral", e.g., wrestler A shoots, wrestler B sprawls and is draped over top of wrestler B, here wrestler A is on "top" for purposes of this rule), may not touch or grasp with his hands, arms, or legs, the ankles or feet of the opposing wrestler." This rule prevents these 3 "dirty" Penn State tactics: The RBY shoe grab defense he employed on Desanto. As the Brands brothers have demonstrated, grabbing your opponent's shoe is very dangerous and should be illegal. The Penn State ankle stall ride. While not dangerous, sitting on your opponent's ankle by using your own leg to "scoop" is stalling. The Mean Max Dean bow and arrow. This move, as illustrated in another popular thread, should be illegal because it inflicts much pain on the opposing wrestler, who has no choice but to go to his back or risk pain. I will note, this rule would not prevent the use of a cradle provided the leg is gathered above the ankle, which it usually is anyway. Many cradles are started with a post by the knee. You may think I'm crazy for proposing such a radical change, but tell me why this rule doesn't effectively eliminate these 3 dirty tricks employed by Cael-trained wrestlers.
