  1. They both wrestled each other as the last match of last season. It was basically the same outcome, so I don't think either of them got any new information.
  2. Right, it has no effect on any seeding or rankings or records.
  3. #4 (Beard), #5 (Dean), #6 (Warner) wrestlers ahead of him all have at least one loss. #5 Dean lost to Laird head to head. Why isn't Laird ranked higher? I would have him at 4 or 5.
  4. His motor and aggression would be awesome in the cage. Would love to see him transition to MMA. Same with Nicky Suriano.
  5. The crazy thing is if Dean rolled without touching his hand down it's no a TD. The hand touches while he is inverted mid-roll and the match is over.
  6. Here is why: 1. Spencer is back and looking great. 26 points to Iowa with Spencer getting his 4th NCAA title. 2. Holes at 125 (won't qualify for NCAAs) and 157 (might qualify but won't win more than 1 match) 3. Dean is either hurt or has regressed. He has dropped 2 matches in a row and likely won't be a top 4 seed going into NCAAs. What can be done: 1. Nothing 2. Nothing about 125. At 157 pull Levi Haines'. Haines could be a low AA this year. 3. Get Dean healthy
  7. Loses 11-9 to Beard. Beard has his revenge on Cael. What is going on with Dean...has he ever lost 2 matches in a row in college?
  8. Laird is a giant. He's really a HWT. Made Dean look tiny.
  9. How many months can one go without competing and still be ranked?
  10. Iowa makes the most sense. They need a 197 pounder after this year.
  11. https://iowa.forums.rivals.com/threads/warner-just-looks-better.406178/
  12. I am shocked how people aren't putting Warner at a solid #2 to Lee. He was an eyelash away from winning it last year and I've read about how he's looked different, in a very dominant way, this year.
  13. Also, Hawkeye fans would have you believe he is already next in line to be the next head coach after Tom Brands retires.
  14. For me, it's David Taylor. He may *only* have won 2 NCAA titles but he has the 2 Hodges and the Olympic Gold.
  15. Spencer had a torn ACL when he lost to Desanto in the PIAA finals when he was a senior in high school. I think he's had at least 1 bad ACL every single season he's competed in college. He's worn one or two giant leg braces that go from his ankle to his hip. That said, the toll of these injuries is definitely cumulative and I think freestyle can be especially hard on the knees...think all the torque you go through when you get leg laced. A "healthy" Spencer could win a Olympic gold medal...a Spencer with two shot knees and 6 years of NCAA wear and tear...well I guess we'll see...
  16. Maybe? He had the COVID year, one medical redshirt...could he use a regular redshirt now? He is *relatively* young for an Iowa wrestler at only 24 years of age.
  17. You are right, 2017 HS grad. But this is his 6th season of NCAA wrestling.
  18. Here's a hypothetical regarding Spencer Lee. We all know he had double ACL surgery this offseason, and is likely to sit out the college season as much as possible. He will likely wrestle the minimum 10 matches to qualify for NCAAs and then try to win his 4th NCAA championship. Now, would you rather see Spencer win his 4th NCAA title or become a Olympic medalist? Obviously, he could very well achieve both, but for purposes of this hypothetical, we are assuming he can only do one...because of his body and the wear and tear pursuing a 4th NCAA title will add. So 4-timer or Olympic medalist?
  19. Yianni could win it with a loss if there are no other big name undefeateds. I think Spencer Lee who is undefeated with at least 10 matches wins it easily. 4x NCAA is worth like 90% of winning the Hodge.
  20. DT was ridden by Dake multiple times. Nolf ridden by IMAar. Granted those are pretty much the only 2 guys to do it...but they were ridden nonetheless.
  21. How would you rank Desanto? Neutral: A- (against most guys he's a TD machine, struggles to get TDs vs top competition read: RBY) Top: B (not really a turner) Bottom: B+ (has been ridden by the top guys)
  22. Yes but those are like the only 2 times he's been bad on bottom in his entire college career. Would you give Isiah Martinez a C on bottom because he got pinned by Joseph?
