  1. Maybe they should add absolute number of wins as a seeding criteria?
  2. Based on placement in the graphic his top choices are currently: Arizona State, Iowa State, Rutgers, Indiana and Cal Baptist.
  3. I heard he's about to announce his top 5. Another PA kid, elite lightweight who could buck the trend and become a Hawkeye and lead the program...be a real game changer. Do we think it happens or does he go to Ohio State or Penn State? Penn State has had a long drought at 125 ever since Nicky Suriano left and cursed the program. They need an elite 125 pounder but at Penn State Bassett would just be "another guy" although he'd probably win at 2-3 NCAA titles and just as many team titles.
  4. Currently ranked #14 by Intermat, 9-0. I think he's a bit small for 165, 157 is probably his more natural weight. Is he a true AA contender? A potential finalist? Love the kid's pace...reminds me a bit of a cross between Nolf and Nick Lee.
  5. Starocci's final wins: 1. Kemererer (4x AA) 2. Lewis (NCAA champ) 3. Labriola (5x AA) Brooks' final wins: 1. Hidlay (3x AA) 2. Amine (5x AA, Olympic bronze) 3. Keckeisen (3x AA)
  6. Both have a similar number of losses and similar level of dominance. So far neither has won a Hodge.
  7. Depends on who...but say Starocci or Brooks is lost for the year. And Iowa gets all the Ferraris in the garage plus Keuter...
  8. Iowa is one Penn State injury away from making it a real race at NCAAs...
  9. Max Dean has 5 losses to 3 NCAA champs: Drew Foster (x2) Bo Nickal Myles Martin (x2)
  10. Huh, the internet says Luke is 21 and won multiple Minnesota state titles, even says he was going to wrestle for U of Minnesota but I guess that is just wrong.
  11. Does a Big Ten Plus subscription allow you to watch Big Ten Network wrestling live or on demand after the match? I think the answer is no but wanted to check with others.
  12. He's the son of Brock Lesnar, and Luke was apparently a 3x Minnesota state champ. But I can't find records of him wrestling in college. Anybody know?
  13. To be fair, that was almost 9 years ago at this point...
  14. The scoring record will go another year unbroken.
  15. SVN out for the year. This hurts.
  16. It obviously would help schools with the deepest pockets who have wrestling. I think Ohio State would benefit the most and could overtake Penn State.
  17. Woods is the best and the favorite to win it this year. Just too big, long and quick. And he's super tough on top.
  18. How many finalists and champs do you have?
  19. Penn State beat Lehigh yesterday but it was not a totally dominant win, even factoring in some guys missing action like SVN and Brooks. 125 - Gary Steen looks largely like the same wrestler from years past. Tries hard, still too small. Not a NCAA qualifier. Their other options in Howard and Davis did not wrestle. I think Davis is probably their best bet since Howard cannot stay healthy. 133 - Nagao lost and it wasn't close. Granted Crookham may be the best 33 pounder in the country but Nagao didn't have much for him. I think Nagao still AAs but I don't think he's a finalist. 149 - SVN did not wrestle for some reason 157 - Haines won but did not dominate. He looks banged up already. 165 and 174 - Mesenbrink and Starocci looked great. Need to see a larger sample size for MM to see if he's big enough for the weight. 184 - Truax looked great, but he's likely not a finalist either and definitely not beating Keicksen. HWT - Kerk looked good but may have gotten injured So I still think PSU wins it all, but we may need to pump the breaks on having 9 AAs, 7 finalists and 5 champs. My prediction as of now is 8 AAs: 133, 141, 149, 157, 174, 184, 197, HWT. 4 finalists at 149, 174, 197 and HWT 3 champs 174, 197 and HWT
