  1. Iowa's best crushes that lineup and it's not even close Iowa 125 Spencer Lee (3x champ) 133 Tom Brands (3x champ, Olympic gold) 141 Jeff McGinness (2x champ) 149 Incoln McIlravy (3x champ, Olympic bronze) 157 Jim Zalesky (3x champ) 165 Joe Williams (3x champ, Olympian) 174 Joe Scarpello (3x champ) 184 Ed Banach (3x champ, Olympic gold) 197 Chris Campbell (2x champ, Olympic bronze) HWT Lou Banach (2x champ, Olympic gold)
  2. Looking back to Spencer’s GOAT Talk show was it a bit premature? He ended up getting pinned in the semis by Ramos and now Clark has surpassed him as the Iowa GOAT with her performance at NCAAs so far.
  3. Now this is what a MFF is supposed to be for. Thoughts and prayers to Peyton and the Robb family.
  4. Didn't Alex Facundo beat Amine? I don't think Amine is beating Starocci in this lifetime.
  5. Headgear and singlets should be optional.
  6. Don't forget they'll add the 3 Ferraris too
  7. He would be a significant upgrade over Teske...
  8. Thanks. And when did Nolf and Ruth win their Hodges?
  9. When did Nolf, Dieringer and Ruth win Hodges?
  10. Uh, what?
  11. Spencer Lee is better
  12. a lower body injury
  13. He lost his last contested match, and was too injured to compete in his last 2 matches.
  14. Spencer Lee, in his prime, is the GOAT on top. No one else could turn guys with such ease and frequency as Spencer when he was at his best. He may have fewer championships than Sanderson, Dake, Yianni and Stieber and more losses than a bunch of guys, but he is truly the GOAT when it comes to tilting guys on top.
  15. Early buzz has him transferring to Iowa
  16. No way in hell Yianni finishes 5th in Hodge Voting. At worst he'll be 2nd.
  17. Andrew Alirez is in the photo. Look closer.
  18. He's bigger than Brooks, I doubt it.
  19. 70% bonus is very good. Only Alirez had a higher percentage. And AOC is a 2x champ. I think the only knock on him was that 157 was not a particularly "hard" weight as the #2 seed was a true freshman who wasn't even the definite starter on his team until midway through the season.
  20. Only knock on him is his bonus % isn't great - 4 out of the 10 finalists have a better percentage than him. Also not sure he wrestled the toughest competition. Might actually give that to KOT, though he has the 2 losses.
  21. https://www.win-magazine.com/2023/03/21/fanvote/ 125 Pat Glory, Princeton (undefeated) 133 Vito Arujau, Cornell 141 Andrew Alirez, Northern Colorado (undefeated) 149 Yianni Diakomihalis, Cornell 157 Austin O’Connor, North Carolina (undefeated) 165 Keegan O’Toole, Missouri 174 Carter Starocci, Penn State (undefeated) 184 Aaron Brooks, Penn State 197 Nino Bonaccorsi, Pittsburgh (undefeated) Hwt Mason Parris, Michigan (undefeated) I believe Yianni wins it. Yes, I know he has 1 loss, but he is a 4x NCAA champ which outweighs everything else.
  22. Given the drama at Ohio University he may be available in the transfer portal soon:
  23. I don't know, but yeah a 4 team "championship" would not be that exciting --- it probably would be bad for the sport when Iowa wins every single weight.
  24. I think the entire tournament would have to take place in 1 session since there are only 4 D1 women's programs: Iowa, Lock Haven, Sacred Heart and Presbyterian College. I would be shocked if Iowa's team didn't win everything single championship. NCAA Schools 1. Adrian College - Adrian, MI - NCAA Div. III 2. Albion College - Albion, MI – NCAA Div III 3.
