  1. Yes, Barr was very impressive, especially given that he looks a bit small for 197. Probably better at 184. Beard looked to have 10-15 pounds on him.
  2. Surprising result for a RS freshman over a 6 year senior 2x AA
  3. Kennedy needs to transfer. He could AA this year.

  5. Are you really arguing over the use of the word reigning in this context? If so, then how about "former champ"?
  6. The problem is Bartlett can't take Mendez down. I don't think he has ever taken him down.
  7. If he somehow regained eligibility and could wrestle in college again, then yes.
  8. I've said this many times before, but if Keuter has the talent/potential to be drafted for the NFL, he absolutely should be focused 100% on football. Even as a late round draft pick he would make more money on his first contract than he would make in 10 lifetimes as a "professional" wrestler. Even if he were to win 4 NCAA titles and a gold medal he would be making pennies compared to a NFL LB who play 3 seasons. There is just absolutely no money in wrestling compared to professional football.
  9. Cael reported Nagao has a very severe injury that required surgery and is out for the season (and maybe longer). Penn State has Braeden Davis at 133 but as we saw last year he is still hit or miss, especially up at a new weight. This means 133 could *potentially* be a non-AA weight like it was last year. Does this open up the team race a bit for a team like Iowa?
  10. Well Alirez won two years ago and then took a Olympic redshirt. Nobody dethroned him. And Mendez won last year. So that's how.
  11. Haha funny. Yes I meant 141, not 133.
  12. Last year Beau Bartlett was one finished double leg away from being a National Champion. Instead Jesse Mendez, to his credit, executed an incredible counter and now he is the reigning 133 pound champ. This year, Bartlett has not one, but two reigning 133 pound NCAA champs in his bracket in Alirez and Mendez. Further, Mendez beat him soundly at the All-Star Classic and seems to have separated himself from Bartlett. Beau is awesome, but did he really blow his best shot at a title last year? I have a hard time seeing him taking out both Alirez and Mendez.

  14. Does Rutgers not have grades or classes?
  15. Iowa makes sense then. Keuter did the same thing with FB/Wrestling.
  16. SDSU was decimated through the transfer portal. Sad.
  17. There are massive threads on the Rutgers, Iowa and Penn State boards that Iowa and Penn State will both be losing elite wrestlers to Rutgers. Apparently this is from the same guy who predicted Suriano to Rutgers so it may have legs.
  18. Also notably from past years: Franek, Eireman, Desanto, Teske and Woods. Currently Voinovich, Cruz and Harris (from community college).
  19. Where is he?
  20. Caliendo was a small 165. Plenty of Iowa posters on HR will confirm this.
  21. Optimal lineup for Iowa, if they can swing it (w/o Teemer and Brands) Caliendo 157 Kennedy 165 Arnold 174 Ferrari 184
  22. A tear? I imagine it had to be pretty severe to default out in a big dual.
  23. Sad to say, but I think Facundo needs to transfer at wrestle closer to his natural weight (174). I could see him being the next Bearclaw and AA'ing for another program. Penn State is so loaded they can't wait 2+ years for a guy to develop.
