Hearing they have a good recruiting class. #1? How? They’ve sucked. Great recruits have done meh. For extended period of time. What is drawing the best guys there still? (Yes, this is over the top - but you get my point)

You are warping what I wrote. There are not only two outcomes possible - win or lose by tech/pin. My point, which I believe is clear, is I am surprised some seem to not try all that hard to win. They seem to concede the loss. I would think they would keep trying to win and be willing to take risks even if the risk means that they may lose by a wider margin - perhaps by tech or pin. At least they gave themselves a chance to win. You seem to feel that it is common to simply give up. Admit being outmatched and try to save some pride. I would suggest that giving up is not achieving that.

Sounds right. But it is a reason to actually do something to try to win. Even to the point of taking big risks. Agree?

A school’s athlete bet on same school’s teams over 500 times? What the? oh, it was for less than $5 a bet. That’s ok. Read the rules idiots. Waste of time to punish. These rules are bendable and breakable. Let’s ignore this kind of behavior to make this very clear. And let’s set plenty of precedent such that punishing anyone else for activity in the ballpark might very well be due to racism or some other ‘cism since they let this 500+ guy off. (So freaking frustrating how many people make excuses for others and expect no personal accountability)

My goodness. This woman needs more discussion. She just wiped the mat with other women in her age group (U20) … not surprising since she is already world champ at U23 and the big show - seniors. Very very rarely a close match. Need some pros to give insights on her style. Also, is she going to challenge Gray for the Olympic spot?

Just watched a wrestler, down by many points, do a whole lot of nothing in last minute of a match. Kinda danced in tie ups. Always surprises me. Your losing. Who cares if you lose by tech or pin or by points. It is a tourney — you are losing. Do something to win!! Try something. Go for it!!

Thanks for this. I can see this. I believe I’ve seen TDs that occur and legs are already laced and then a lace turn occurs and 2 points are again given. Total of 4. Seemed like this was a similar situation but I’m guessing I’m not appreciating something.

Shapiro the only gold medalist for us so far. Tough battle. Was down 0-4. Next scramble got a bit hectic. Took a long time for corner to stop blood on Shapiro. Came back to win by 5 (see above).

I believe it was a TD with an interesting leg hold. Clear 2. Then he used the hold to cause a turn. My view of things.

Just watched Bouzakis lose to Mohit. Bouzakis was constantly firing early. Worked early. But could not turn Mohit when on top. Mohit was slick and long. Wrestled well. Seemed to turn Bouzakis without much effort. Was back and forth. I thought Bouzakis had a TD and a turn at the end but only 2 points were given. Kinda confused on that. Bouzakis was exhausted by end. Kept fighting but he wore himself out. Mohit looked much fresher. Think it was 12-11 Mohit at the end.

Just watched the close Shapiro match. Got first TD. Opponent got in deep, Shapiro tried to tie it up but in process gave up two exposures. 2-4. Got TD with <1 min left to be up on criteria and then got another TD.

Shapiro had a close one in quarters. Read that he had to score 2x in last minute to win 6-4. Going off of memory on reading that an hour or so ago. Then he handles the Russian cadet world champ 8-0. Saw scramble for first points. Felt a bit bad for the Russian’s right leg …

All 5 US Mens freestyle wrestlers that wrestled today are in the Semis!!! Impressive.

Here is the idea …. If you try and get countered - as you likely will due to the other wrestler being better - the other team gets 2 more points. Which may not happen today if they are within a decision or Major range. Wrestlers likely to lose will do their best to NOT get scored on — perhaps more than today. Risk seems even higher.
