  1. Demolition according to score.
  2. Cardenas looks like he handled Buchanan — ok, semi close until late into second period. Cardenas got a TD and lace. Buchanan leg injury coming out of it.
  3. Huh? Can’t be tough if wear headgear? Ok. I’d say it helps him look smart. Hockey players that wear head protection - would you say they are not tough? Nah, I’d say they are smarter than those that don’t.
  4. 61 is deep. So is 65. 79 looks good.
  5. Perhaps Fix just wanted some press. See how his news would cause a flutter. Or, didn’t make weight, or sh$t happened.
  6. Why does this matter to the thread?
  7. If they change the rules, simply riding will be stalling. RT point incentivizes and rewards this kind of ride - a stall ride.
  8. Hi - get TD near end of period and ride out - 3 points! Good riders rejoice!! Now get three points instead of 2!! Riding time incents and justifies stall rides. Is a ref going to call stalling on a guy just riding when clock is getting close to 1 minute? Nah.
  9. So this is complete BS …this forum is going to die quickly if posts like this are a thing.
  10. Yea, I expect slow roll. 1 or 2. Count me in on 3 pt TD. And the no RT without a turn. Makes things more complicated to keep track of things though.
  11. And on the point that the match would not have been stopped if she didn’t go unconscious … you are likely right. Which is also not ok. Doing a move … 2 times, which purposefully aims to injure … and only giving a moderate concussion … is still unacceptable.
  12. I’m not saying what you say I’m saying. Here is what I’m saying … a move whose sole purpose is to threaten or cause injury so as to get a wrestler to release a grip is not ok. I’m being very specific. on top of that, let’s be more specific — a move whose sole purpose is to threaten or cause a head injury so as to get a wrestler to release a grip, is not ok. I don’t care if the potentially injured wrestler could figure out a way to defend. We are talking about intent and potential harm. This is not hard. And I don’t care if people were trained to do this. Head injuries are a big deal. The sport is doing more to prevent them. A move SPECIFICALLY designed to cause a head injury if the defending wrestler isn’t quick or wise enough to defend it —- is NOT ok. This is pretty simple.
  13. Ok. Now show the video where the coach says to do best to slam the opponents face into mat hard, repeatedly. Per Askren this is the goal in order to get arm free.
  14. It clearly was … hard head slam. Another hard head slam. Done with intent to at least threaten injury so as to get opponent to release hold. Not ok.
  15. Was the move done with the express purpose of threatening or causing a serious head injury in order for the opposing wrestler to release a legal hold?
  16. @uncle bernardyour logic has tremendous holes. Pretty much no move would be illegal. Opponent just needs to defend themselves. Easy as that. Stop being a wus.
  17. Yes. I wrestled. Did you even listen to Askren. He was literal. Very clear. Objective was to threaten injury and bounce head off mat hard. I’m fine with up and down bouncing. I’m not fine with a fast and intentional smashing of opponents head into the mat so that for the next one the person releases a hold. That is bullshit. how is this different from a top wrestler with bottom wrestler flat, putting both hands on opponent’s head, and then slamming the opponent’s face repeatedly into mat so they build a base?
  18. Are there examples of legal moves where the full intent is to injure your opponent in order to get the opponent to release a hold? Askren was very clear - this head bounce move is to be executed by slamming the person’s head hard into the mat. Really hard. Askren emphasized this. The risk of injury (smashed nose / face; concussion) is what you are trying to instill on your opponent - this prompting them to release the elbow. Some ideas I expect will come up and we’re mentioned on FRL. Very hard head snap - there is downward pressure on head but not as much as with this bounce. Opponent hands are generally free. Has more opportunity to mitigate risk given hand position, strength of back, and distance to mat. So not as extreme a risk but worth debate. Lift and return to mat. Opponent needs to protect themself. But lifting wrestler also has duty to not slam. Specifically, they can’t drill opponent head into mat. Lifted wrestler has time to decide what to do. That first head bounce is very quick and hard to react that fast. Express goal of move is not to threaten injury.
  19. Listening to Askren - says it is a well known move to bounce opponents face off mat from that position. Fair move. Whole purpose is to slam face into mat so that they release grip to protect head. What? It is a wrestling move to purposefully slam a head into the mat. That is the whole purpose of the move so that the other wrestler releases a grip? I say no. Hell no. If this logic works, then purposeful elbow to face should be just fine. Or knee to face. How about head butt to face. All involve purposefully slamming face with force. It is BS.
  20. USA wrestling reporting Gable will be wrestling at the US Open. Wow. Pretty cool.
  21. @jdowntown - good post. Not in agreement with all said but that is fine. Well thought through and we’ll said.
  22. Sexualizing the athletes on the forum - seems like a step too far. @BobDole, @Husker_Du
  23. Both things can be true - there are many many many people that have enjoyed Spencer Lee’s wrestling, consider him to be a good person, are fans, have cheered him, and recognize the pressure has felt. And — there are plenty of people that have written nasty and mean spirited posts, with the intent to make Spencer look bad, annoy his fan base, or to make themselves feel better. Intent isn’t very clear when it is read by the person being slammed.
  24. Vak just gave you an example of a Lee hater post. The guy even started a thread on the board to get his anti-Lee jollies out there. And now you say that this is not a good enough example. LOL. The guy is clearly a hater.
  25. Ok. I’ll satisfy you and bite. What rumor are you trying to start?
