Well, they have already been "banned" in certain places. That's why I mentioned them. mspart

The Rs have a majority, but a very slim one. It doesn't take many to mess up a speaker vote. As we have seen. I wonder how many speaker votes have ended with some dissent from the caucus other than this session of Congress. Did Pelosi ever receive a no vote from a D in all her years as speaker? Did Hastert? Did anyone else? mspart

You might add Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer to your list. mspart

Joe Warren, the baddest man on the planet, got removed from competition for PED. I think it was pot, but not sure. I believe Jordan Oliver also couldn't compete for something similar. mspart

I smoked a brisket on Fri. There were all kinds of difficulties. My burner wouldn't light, I was too low on propane so it stopped heating halfway through. It smoked way to fast. But .... It was the best brisket I have ever smoked, it was incredibly tender and tasty and it was just wonderful. We finished it in the oven at 350F, not covered in foil, splashing stuff all over. But it came out at 209 on the bottom and 197 on the top. I covered it lightly to let it rest for 30 minutes and my wife was too hungry. So I carved it up, very easy carving and it was awesome. It should've been bad but was the best. Batting 100% for smoked meats coming out really really good. mspart

Olympic Weight - Tweeners/Who goes where?
mspart replied to nhs67's topic in International Wrestling
This is a lot of work you have done. At 57kg. I have a question about Zane Richards? Does anyone see him as the man next year? Will Gilman have his number? Is there anyone else that can displace Zane? I think there will be a change at 57kg. Zane didn't medal and Gilman did a year earlier so I am thinking that Zane had his chance. I'm thinking there is extreme hunger and we will have someone new in that spot. By new I mean not Zane. He seems especially susceptible. At 65kg - There are just too many to choose from that could make a go of it here. Nick Lee I think can do it, Yianni also. But then there's Vito, Daton, DeSanto, Zain, and JG. My guess is it will be between Vito and Yianni in the finals. If Vito goes 65 of course. Both of these weights are hugely packed with talent. What would the OTT qualification process look like for those no longer in college? Other than previous Olympian. mspart -
He beat the guy from GA 124-81 in the R caucus. Doesn't look like he has enough R support and will go the way of Scalise, unless he does a McCarthy. mspart

Unfortunately fired? Ha ha. That was a joke right? mspart

I don't think Jordan has ever said that Plasi. He has said he was not aware of it. I gave a link that details the accusations against Jordan made by team members and also votes of support for what Jordan has said by other team members. It appears that not even the team is able to come together on this. If they can't, it seems ludicrous to base an opinion on Jordan that is based on this controversy. Again, like someone on this board said, not convicted nor prosecuted so therefore all is right with the world. If it works for some, it works for all. mspart

So will Russian athletes be able to compete under another flag like they did in the recent WCs? If so, they still have the opportunity to compete, just that Russia will not be in the story. mspart

Similar to Mijain Lopez of Cuba. I'm guessing he comes back for another go. Pretty incredible. 4 Olympic golds, the last having not competed in 3 years. mspart

And we can't get more Olympic weights?
mspart replied to AgaveMaria's topic in International Wrestling
Dodgeball with the shot put. That would make it interesting and with an element of danger. Maybe an 8lb shot rather than 16lb. Even a 2lb shot would be risky!! The move to winter Olympics is an interesting idea for sure. It meets with our current HS and College schedules which might be a problem for those over achieving college types that make the team. There would be a good deal of interference there. WTTs and OTTs would happen when? Same time or during Nov or Dec, right smack in the middle of the college season? These are small hurdles, but wrestling is a winter sport but I doubt it is viewed that way by the masses. No snow or ice is involved. Uphill road but very interesting idea. The IOC does not want to give out any more medals, period. That was the reasoning when we last visited the elimination of wrestling and holding weights to 6. That and time to complete the competition. But track and swimming go on forever and no one minds. I don't understand their hangups with medals and time. One thing I learned last time when I watched wrestling exclusively is that I did miss seeing many of the other sports, at least on those days. With it being in Paris this next time that probably won't be an issue. Competition will be complete for the day when I wake up rather than just getting started when I get home. mspart -

You are telling me to grow up? Your left wing talking points are absolutely horrific. How about you, justifying Hamas. "Well they are only trying to defend themselves and they have been beat up and taken out to the woodshed so we can't blame them when they act out." In all of this you have not blamed Hamas once. After being called on the carpet you have admitted that what they did was not right, but..... You have blamed Israel numerous times. I'm just reading what you are writing and coming to a logical conclusion. The fact that you have not blamed Hamas for this attack is very telling. The fact that you justify the attack by blaming Israel is also very telling. Tale old as time. mspart

You are so predictable. "I don't condone the Hamas actions but Israel had it coming." That is condoning and justifying the cowardly attacks on civilians and the butchering that occurred. You are trying to have it both ways, but you only have it one way. mspart

Wow I love smoked cheese. But I figure I would melt it, never thought I might be able to do this. Hmmmmm, I might have to try this. Got a brisket thawing for this weekend!! I'll give that a go. But I may try cheese and if so, I'll let you know how much melt I got!!! mspart

You lost the battle here with the fact that that you are justifying Hamas who are a bunch of barbarians that did not take the fight to the government and soldiers, but to mostly unarmed civilians in a surprise attack, burning alive, raping women, killing 260 youth at a dance event, decapitating women and babies. COWARDLY BEHAVIOR! There is no excuse for this and your arguments and justifications are getting real old and tiresome. Even President Biden has said, "Hamas offers nothing but terror and bloodshed with no regard to who pays the price,” Biden said. “The loss of innocent life is heartbreaking. Like every nation in the world, Israel has the right to respond, indeed the duty to respond, to these vicious attacks.” Head of ADL is condemning everyone not condemning these attacks. You are left alone crying, but but but..... There is no justification for this. They are getting what they deserve. Gazans are not innocent in this as theY heartily support Hamas. Hell is coming for the Gaza Strip in a way they have not experienced before. Did they think that would not be the result? What were they thinking? They were not thinking immediate future that's for sure. What have Hamas been doing all this time? Oh, they have been taking all the money and doing nothing but buy munitions and dig tunnels. Have they put together a water supply so they don't have to rely on Israel? Have they put together a power system so they don't have to rely on Israel? No, they haven't. All they want to do is kill Israelis. Read their charter. In 1988, Hamas published its charter, calling for the destruction of Israel and the establishment of an Islamic society in historic Palestine. And that was apparent this weekend when they cowardly went after the most vulnerable. I suppose you justify ISIS and Al-Qaeda in Iraq, and Al-Qaeda, they did similar. As the Japanese admiral said of the attack on Honolulu, he feared they had just awakened a sleeping giant. Well, Israel has been awakened and I think they will accept nothing but total surrender this time out, and if they push for that, they should be supported by everyone. mspart
