  1. So might it be just dressed up Ban B? Or who else might it be. I assume you never coached a day in your life. You may not have done any type of volunteer work.
  2. If you sign a contract to receive something (an education) ( value a lot) for your service for a year. You have to abide by said contract or you can lose your compensation. That sounds like an employee to me.
  3. We all didn't say so back then. Most of us wanted some change without taking away all the good things about NCAA Wrestling. I was for across-the-board stipends,(to start with) that are very similar to what the military academies have been getting for years. Try it for a few years then access things and see what can be done better.
  4. We are there now with no guiderails. It would be a good idea for some intelligent people to take a hard look at where we are and what can be done to improve it.
  5. You only signed a one year contract. But most athletes in wrestling are in college for 5 years. I guess I am old school. If I recruit an athlete for the 5 years. I would like him to stay for 5 years. Let's say he comes my school, and he redshirts. Then we put a lot a time and effort into helping him to develop into and all-American by his sophomore year. If someone else now wants him ok. I will put a cash value on what the school and my coaching staff have put in in developing the athlete in the 3 years he was with us i order to be compensated. It just seems like fair value marketing to me.
  6. I was more for across the board set stipends for all athletes very similar to the stipends they have at the military academies.
  7. They both now have pro athletes. Both are able to negotiate for the amount of pay they want. Both can choose to go to an opposing team to get paid more money. The pro athlete has to sign a contract and abide by the contract. Right now, the Pro college athlete doesn't have to sign a contract. That just seems illogical to me.
  8. Oops, my bad. I thought that had already been determined.
  9. I thought you had a video of Wyatt pulling Gables singlet for the win.
  10. What if the school used the wrestler's likeness and name. I know in football they put their names on Jerseys and on all types of merchandise that the school sells. I know Ohio State sells close to 200million dollars' worth of athletic related merchandise each year.
  11. I guess I missed that. First time I heard anyone mention it. Do you have the video?
  12. Maybe he could fire up the grill and invite some friends over.
  13. Since we are now talking about professional athletes now, why couldn't you have the athlete sign a 5- year contract? which would include a buyout in the event of them going to another school. This is done in most professional sports.
  14. Why not a buyout clause for the school who is losing the wrestler. I would say 1 million dollars for a 5 star, 800K for a 4 star, etc. etc. They might slow some of this down.
  15. I would not have challenged had I been coach. My wrestler is up by 3 with a minute to go. My wrestler is not tired, there wrestler is. I don't want to give their wrestler a lung break. But to be honest I don't see how they took away 2 points away from Cannon. I really didn't think Ryan would win the challenge, I never thought he would lose 2.
  16. But instead of guns they are using brief cases full of money. 5 years ago, you couldn't take a meal, 10-dollar bill or free t-shirt without violating NCAA rules.
  17. Will all the F-Bombs work or do they really need a better platform. Who is doing the advising for them. I really don't think the F-Bomb strategy is working.
  18. In Football the top 5 teams are paying out over 20 million dollars in NIL money, that doesn't include the money from outside sources. Does anyone have the amount of money the top 6 wrestling are paying out in NIL money. Maybe you can include the money from outside sources. ... ........This is getting to be the Wild West on steroids. Why aren't buyouts required if another team wants to grab a wrestler that is already at another school. It seems that the NCAA forgot to put to some guard rails in place to prevent this from happening.
  19. I googled it. The OCA. The Original Classification Authority. It is made up experts in different areas of our government. So, a high-ranking military official may be designated for classifying sensitive military intelligence.
  20. I asked the question because I don't know, and nobody has officially determined whether it is classified or not.
