  1. That is because the tweet they posted on page 1 of the thread was deleted, so it no longer links here, but you can still find the blank post and at least one response to the post and one emoji to the response.
  2. Part and parcel of the scoop at a news organization (not a social media platform that only wants to be thought of as news when it suits it's purpose and not when it does not) is accuracy. I think I would be fine.
  3. You are talking about paperwork and political power/motivation. None of that changes the fact he was found guilty by a jury of committing 34 felonies. Call it a conviction, don't call it a conviction. It is a distinction without a difference.
  4. A distinction without a difference
  5. Even the police chief got it wrong. He originally stated three plus the shooter, then changed it to five plus the shooter, before revising to two plus the shooter. Fog of war. This is why I refrain from the hot take, rush to be first, mentality in these situations. But I also hesitate to call BS when someone posts their Twitter and TikTok feeds like they are gospel, because ... maybe ... but probably not. In this case, definitely not.
  6. There is your answer.
  7. The VT style guide lists their official color as Chicago Maroon, as in University of Chicago Maroons.
  8. Not just maroon, Chicago maroon. Copycats.
  9. Exactly. Earlier in this thread some people got convinced the killer was trans and taking medication to transition.
  10. All of this is unverified per the police chief. I am willing to wait until real info is available.
  11. A big part of their #9 dual team rank in wrestlestat is the no Teemer assumption. Wrestlestat has them losing one point matches to Cornell, Minnesota, Northern Iowa, Nebraska, and Ohio State. And in each of those cases they have Isaiah Fenton losing at 157 (5 out 6 by MD). Against Virginia Tech they have Fenton losing by TF and Iowa losing by 8. Insert Teemer there and it comes down to tie breakers. So assuming Teemer goes they are third behind He Who Shall Not Be Named and I forget.
  12. For me the most interesting possible match ups are those involving two past champs. Steveson v Kerkvliet - Can the PSU brain trust come up with a Cassar-esque game plan to get Kerkvliet over the top? Doubtful as this is not the same Steveson. But will the time in the wilds of pretend wrestling, pre-season NFL camp, and a cup of coffee in a WWE gym cause any regression? Alirez v Mendez - Two guys with a lot of dog in them that seems so evenly matched. I have no idea how this will turn out, but I am here for it. O'Toole v Haines - Neither championship came at their current weight. Can a two weight jump trump a one weight jump? I do not know, but I cannot weight to find out. Keckeisen v Starocci - I find the potential five-timer status to be uninteresting, frankly. But with one guy having dominated in one way (five bonus point wins) and the other having dominated in a different way (five one leg victories) at the last tournament, I am intrigued by the potential clash of styles.
  13. Journeymen's Rokfin channel. You probably have to pay for both.
  14. Here is my worry. It is the third match of the day. Do all starters wrestle all three matches?
  15. Exactly. It is such a clear violation. It should have happened long ago. By waiting this long it is pretty clear that he will never pay any fine. Hence above the law. Gensler is gone in a month and the man Musk spent $200 million on to get elected is certainly not going to pursue him. You know, because "politically motivated" as you like to say.
  16. It is a fairly straight forward issue. He waited 21 days to file his 13f form after surpassing 5% ownership. You are allowed 10 days. And he continued to buy the stock the entire time. And when he finally did file he failed to reveal that he was in negotiations to buy the company which is required of any 5%+ owners. It is not a serious violation, no one goes to jail for it, but it is a very obvious set of violations. For example, here are 23 such penalties for similar violations issued in September: https://www.sec.gov/newsroom/press-releases/2024-148
  17. The people he bought the stock from without revealing he owned more than 5% of the company and that he had already begun negotiations to buy the company.
  18. Well he saved $143.7 million on those purchases by not abiding by regulations, so yes. Number 1 with a bullet. Got any other poorly thought out questions?
  19. But what if I love all the people? While I am clearly in the bag for Penn State, I harbor no ill will toward TNT. I have actually attended more duals at Carver (2) than Rec Hall/BJC (0).
  20. The SEC has finally gotten around to Musk's purchases of Twitter stock and the associated securities laws violations. I think the SEC waited to long and now there is approximately zero chance he pays a fine. In another month he will effectively be above the law. Or more above the law. He kinda is already. https://www.cnbc.com/2024/12/13/elon-musk-says-sec-sent-settlement-demand-after-twitter-deal-probe.html
  21. I feel like we tend to underestimate Iowa's dual prowess. Last year was tough with back-to-back loses to Michigan and Penn State, but both teams had a talent advantage. When talent is about even TNT have a history of outcoaching other teams (Kevin Dresser Exhibit 1A). Until I see how David Taylor handles a match day squad (does he set up his lineup optimally? does he know in match tactics/adjustments? does he know when to and when not to throw the brick? can he manage the clock?) I think I have to lean toward TNT and Iowa.
