  2. .... Toned it down, and is actually waiting for the final whistle before sticking the mike in a wrestler's face, as he's done in the past.

  3. In 4 NCAA Final appearances, Daton Fix has not scored a SINGLE OFFENSIVE Point! Only escapes and "penalty" points.

  11. No, online message boards, social media, and live streaming coverage didn't exist back then. People read about Iowa and Oklahoma State's successes in the newspaper and had to carve their disdain about wrestling dynasties into the trunks of trees and on cave walls.

  12. 2nd place without any transfer portal BS. Hey, my team does it, but that doesn't mean I have to be ecstatic about it. That's the game now, though. Much respect to Cornell for getting it done with original recruits (and with a new coach!).

  16. the finals would be so much better if all these people on this board didn't whine about what the wrestlers talk about. sounds dumb doesn't it. stop.

  18. I mean, when you think about it, the three point takedown really devalues the team points scored.

  19. I can't believe we're going to lose the official scoring record because two dopes dove to their backs against Beau Bartlett for no reason.

  20. I have no dog in the 165lb race, so I say this with all due respect. You need to not be stupid. Please bear in mind that I did say with all due respect so you can't be a mad little sissy.

  22. Y'all crack me up You complain when there is no stalling called, saying it should be called more often You complain when there is stalling called, saying it shouldn't be called so often.

  23. Wow. The bias is strong with this ref. Mess walked out of bounds when on bottom multiple times. No biggie.

  28. If I was an impartial viewer, I probably would have checked out by now. We’ve spent more time in review so far than wrestling

  29. There were so many shenanigans in that match, I'll save that discussion for a later day. I'm wondering what would be the most controversial and protracted way for him to win? My nightmare scenario: Vito scores the only takedown but gets called for locked hands x2, gives up a stall call and a point for hands to the face. OKST runs out to the mat multiple times and demands free reviews. Camera pans to Ragusin in the stands as he's mouthing the words "whiney little b*****". Fix hugs the boundary line/runs directly towards it multiple times but never gets called. Wins by 1

  36. I’m sure that’s frustrating as a coach, but his ‘reckless abandon’ style is what got him this far. You gotta take the bad with the good and I’d rather have a kid like andonian

  41. Kasak (149) and Berge (184) both lost in the first round, but are now guaranteed to place 3-6. Also, Volk (125), Jordan (125), and Kinner (149) lost in the first round, but are now guaranteed to place 7-8. Super tough.

  45. And then there were five. All hail the five All-Americans from the bottom half of the bracket. #23 Tanner Jordan, South Dakota State 125 (7th Place Match) #26 Vance Vombaur, Minnesota 141 (7th Place Match) #20 Hunter Garvin, Stanford 165 (Top 6) #18 Benjamin Pasiuk, Army 174 (7th Place Match) #25 David Key, Navy 184 (7th Place Match) That is a pretty fair haul. In the four prior years of 33 seeds there were 1 (2019), 6 (2021), 1 (2022), and 2 (2023 AAs from the bottom half. Leader in the Clubhouse @Hwt1 charges into the lead. I am thinking we found Hunter Garvin's dad. With 12.5 points (and counting?) Garvin is the clear leader. Congrats to your son, it looks he will be top 6 at NCAA's form the #20 seed, and earn you a much more important title. Only @PortaJohn can catch Hwt1 at this point. Though PJ was completely hosed by quite possibly the smartest brick every thrown: If there is justice in this world, our hero, Ben Pasiuk, will pinfall Edmond Ruth in the 7th place match (sorry @ILLINIWrestlingBlog but we need there to be nice things in the world), gaining an extra 3.5 points, And Hunter Garvin will stop scoring points, And then maybe, just maybe, PJ can win on a tiebreaker. But, I forget what the tiebreakers are, and they are all the way on page 1, so that will have to wait. The 17's were looking so strong, like every coach ever taught you, you have to keep scoring.
