125 Pounds

  • Desmond Pleasant, Drexel
  • Mack Mauger, Missouri
  • Brady Roark, South Dakota State
  • Nicolar Rivera, Wisconsin
  • Sulayman Bah, Columbia

I think this is correct

133 Pounds

  • Braxton Brown, Maryland
  • Dominick Serrano, Northern Colorado
  • Dylan Shawver, Rutgers
  • Marcel Lopez, SIU Edwardsville
  • Luke Willochell Wyoming

Correct

141 Pounds

  • Pierson Manville, Arizona State
  • Braden Basile, Army West Point
  • Billy DeKraker, Northwestern
  • Matthew Martino, Princeton
I would like to see the rational on this one Frezza had way more wins against the field and beat Martino 3 out 4 times But lost the last one. The other one was DeKraker has zero wins against the field. Someone like AJ Rallo or Ragusin.

149 Pounds

  • Kaden Cassidy, George Mason
  • Chance Lamer, Nebraska
  • Max Petersen, North Dakota State
  • Eligh Rivera, Princeton
No real problem. But I could see switching out Cassidy for Edmonds but no real argument

157 Pounds

  • Mason Shrader, Central Michigan
  • Vinny Zerban, Iowa State
  • Jonathan Ley, Navy
  • Dylan Evans, Pittsburgh
Can't really argue with any of these. But Teague Travis was 12-8 in a half season and his loses were to 2x Larkin, 2x Watters, 2x Robideau, Zerban, and Jordan Williams all ranked in the top 10 when he wrestled them. So I wonder how his RPI looked. But his only win over the field was Laird Root.

165 Pounds

  • Ryan Burgos, Edinboro
  • Tyler Lillard, Indiana
  • Matty Bianchi, Little Rock
  • Jared Keslar, Pittsburgh
  • Thomas Snipes, The Citadel
Got a problem with this one.
Snipes went 0-2 in Socon and only has two wins against the field (Sparks & Vigil) His win % was over 70 and that is a criteria.  I honestly think this is giving the SOCON one At Large.
Burgos went 0-2 in the MAC and has only two wins against the field (Church & Keslar) His Win % was over 70.
Keslar has one win against the field (Church) took 5th in ACC
Brett Smith of Northern Illinois took 2nd in MAC (Lost true 2nd) and has three wins over the field (Church, Earnest, Parco) Parco Beat Keslar at ACC. Their win % is almost identical.
I would like to see the reasoning on this one. Makes no sense.

174 Pounds

  • Avery Bassett, Lock Haven
  • Jared Simma, Northern Iowa
  • Luca Augustine, Pittsburgh
  • Holden Garcia, Princeton
    No problems

184 Pounds

  • Tyler Bienus, Bucknell
  • Sam Goin, Indiana
  • Nick Fox, Northern Iowa
  • Brian Soldano, Oklahoma
I thought they would take Gautreau of Lock Haven. But Bienus has a win over him so no arguements here.

197 Pounds

  • Evan Bates, Missouri
  • Brock Zurawski, Rider
  • Kael Bennie, Utah Valley
  • Rune Lawrence, West Virginia
I thought they would take Zyan Hall of Army OR Jack Wehmeyer of Columbia over Kael Bennie.
Hall beat Wehmeyer. But Wehmeyer has wins two over the field (Hall has none). But Bennie has wins over the field in Bates, Ingham, and Kade Rule. So I can see it

285 Pounds

  • Emmanuel Ulrich, American
  • Connor Barket, Duke
  • Jack Forbes, Utah Valley
  • Christian Carroll, Wyoming

A couple here Forbes didn't place at Big XII but has two wins over the field Stoner and Rasmussen.
But Lost to Buhk from SIUE who has a win over Stoner and placed 2nd in the MAC (Lost in the True 2nd match) and has been ranked since December.
Ulrich's only win against the field is Monchery of App State.
Also, I could have seen Ashton Davis getting a bid his only win over the field was Mason Rebuck

I think Frezza was an automatic qualifier at 141. Top 3 qualified at the Ivy tourney for that weight class.

Kinda sad to see Ragusin end his career by not qualifying.  But he did get 4 NCAA’s so I guess I don’t feel too bad.  Still a solid career and I’ll never forget his interview about John Smith after losing to Fix.

Yes that interview was awesome.  I really wish he could have went out as an all American

Leavell was on Pirate's list for 157 and he lost in his conference finals by 1 point. Yet, he still didn't get an at-large.

Brody Conley has been consistently ranked in the top 16-25ish range for 3 straight seasons and 3 years he laid an egg at big 12s and 3 years he gets screwed out of a wildcard. He beat Augustine head to head and is better than Garcia and I like Garcia he’s a jersey guy. Conley will go into his senior as a guy ranked for 3 straight years without wrestling a match at ncaas

Leavell was in my list as second alternate.

Yeah it is. In 2024 he took Fix to the brink. He had a tough sixth year.

Big Ragusin fan! Classy, hardworking guy- it's almost shocking he earned All American honors just once with how talented he is.

Let me provide some additional information.  Pablo ratings for people mentioned

125 Pounds

30 Desmond Pleasant, Drexel

26 Mack Mauger, Missouri

41 Brady Roark, South Dakota State

22 Nicolar Rivera, Wisconsin

25 Sulayman Bah, Columbia

Roark is the only questionable from this perspective but it's not egregious.  The others are certainly legit.  Just so you know, I'm not going to dig through all the non-automatic qualifiers to see who is more deserving, though, although I can anyone up if you have suggestions.

133 Pounds

28 Braxton Brown, Maryland

13 Dominick Serrano, Northern Colorado (ya think?)

30 Dylan Shawver, Rutgers

50 Marcel Lopez, SIU Edwardsville

23 Luke Willochell Wyoming

Lopez is pushing it here.

141 Pounds

20 Pierson Manville, Arizona State

33 Braden Basile, Army West Point

40 Billy DeKraker, Northwestern

50 Matthew Martino, Princeton

 58 AJ Rallo

41 Ragusin

Princeton got a gift here.  Ragusin is closer, but Pablo doesn't think Rallo is in the discussion.

149 Pounds

70 Kaden Cassidy, George Mason

19 Chance Lamer, Nebraska

23 Max Petersen, North Dakota State

35 Eligh Rivera, Princeton

32 Edmond

Yeah, swap Edmond for Cassidy.

157 Pounds

29 Mason Shrader, Central Michigan

10 Vinny Zerban, Iowa State

35 Jonathan Ley, Navy

18 Dylan Evans, Pittsburgh

19 Teague Travis (7 Larkin, 9 Watters, 4 Robideau, 10 Zerban, and 15 Jordan Williams; 28 Laird Root).  That's a tough schedule.  Based on those outcomes, it looks like Pablo has him in the right position, below Williams and ahead of Root.  But Pablo likes good losses a lot more than RPI does.  None of the 4 at-larges here are bad, but Travis is probably a better wrestler than a couple of them.

Let's make this a post by itself.

165 Pounds

56 Ryan Burgos, Edinboro

23 Tyler Lillard, Indiana

13 Matty Bianchi, Little Rock

51 Jared Keslar, Pittsburgh

55 Thomas Snipes, The Citadel

Yeah, a couple of obvious ones, and then...
Snipes (9 Sparks (v good) & 82 Vigil (not so much))
Burgos (31 Church 51 Keslar)
57 Brett Smith of Northern Illinois took 2nd in MAC (Lost true 2nd) (Q: If he lost the "true 2nd" wrestleback, doesn't that mean he finished 3rd?)

35 Parco

Of the guys listed, Parco is the best option, but there has to be better ones.

Here's the Pablo list from 21 - 40.  Of those eligible (either because there isn't someone else from their team in their place or not auto qualified), who would be the options?
