A couple of days ago, Socra-tease claimed that Taylor wanted to take the place of his "father." These Stilly Boys vids -- hell, the fact that these all access vids exist -- give the lie to the oedipal stuff. DT is his own man and his staff/team/program have a fundamentally different vision of success than Sanderson and PSU.

While obviously a mentor and childhood hero, Sanderson is not who Taylor wants to be. The only sense in which Taylor wants to supplant Sanderson is that he wants to win the team trophies. But then again, so does everyone else.

Idk maybe they're just the primal horde.

I think he could flip the recruiting edge further by being the new "young and energetic" coach to wrestle for.

There's always a draw for those to what's new and fresh and right now that's Oklahoma St. Slaying the dragon of Penn St won't be easy and will take some time but I could potentially see Penn State start to lose ground in the next few years to OKST. No dynasty lasts forever.

Mocco said that there wasnt much difference between Iowa and OSU's practices back in the day. I wonder about now. Just compare vibe in the Stilly Boys stuff to the vid below. Not a wholatta smiles there. Mocco might still be more-or-less right and the vids are just edited to sell a desired brand image.  But, man are those different brands.

Agree, I have a young son and we are both amazed with Okie State and that is painful as a big Ohio State fan.

They are doing all th right things and cannot be ignored.  How does Cael counter?

That’s epic content I wish more teams did. That level of access with that format in this day in age is what sells to donors, fans and recruits.. but hell, I’m also a guy that watches “Inside Indiana HS Wrestling” vids on YT so I may just have a wrestling content addiction I’m only now addressing:)

The way he always counters. He just wins.

The 1970s vibe is strong with this one.

That was funny but accurate unfortunately

It does seem like they probably do some scouting on a lot of guys.  In contrast I thought it was interesting that in a recent SVN interview it seemed like he didn’t even know who Ethan Stiles was.

There seems to be a lot more scouting/game-planning that goes on than people like to let on in interviews for whatever reason.

All the media is intentionally aimed at recruiting and seems to be effective since people are talking about it. Coupling the media with the Stilly Boys youth wrestling tournaments where coaches and wrestlers from the team are in attendance and doing exhibition matches…🔥

Everything seems depressing to me in this video... While at first I thought the wrestling room was cool, now it just seems like an austere lifeless dungeon. Maybe even torture chamber vibes...

Iowa needs to bring some youth and joy back to the sport.

Taylor’s ears.  Omg.

My first thought watching:  is there a good plastic surgeon in Stilly?

Ryder asks Taylor if the Arnold shot counter was reaction time.  Taylor goes, "I think so, I think so" in a tone that says, "No, but I hope they call it that way".

Taylor is going to be a great coach.  He may come from the Sanderson tree, but he has a very different personality and style.  What they do have in common is a champion's mentality.   OSU will be the heavy favorite for 2nd place next year and will be in range in 2028 based on my recruit/ncaa points analysis.
