Agree, so it might be never. What incentive would he have. Not like they need to ho seed hunting.

Re osu v psu dual: I know they were playing for the ESPN audience, but Rock and JB made it sound like OSU would make it a match: "Give the people what they want!" We might want it, but it would not be competitive. Psu winning 9 would be more likely that OSU winning 5.

Hopefully the wrestling gods bless us in 2 years and we get it.  Raney twins, Dreshaun Ross, and Jayden James added to the mix it would be a fun one

Sports are about fans, not about issues between coaches. Don't say you want to "grow the sport" and ignore the possibility of a great fan experience.

People seem to have this stupid idea that Cael is supposed to jump when DT and his money backer come callin, but the simple truth is that it will happen on Cael's terms, not theirs.

I sure hope it does. Also, as a fellow Penn Stater maybe chill a little.  You're presenting Cael as some kind of mean girl diva.  Cael, calculated yes, diva no.  He's a pretty chill dude.

I agree, and I don't speak for him or PSU wrestling. I am posting simply as this is a topic here and Cael is on record as not liking the duals tournament format that fans of other schools use to beat on him.

Maybe someone else has already done this and I haven't read far enough into this thread but the WrestleStat dual comparison for a Penn State @ Oklahoma State dual has Penn State winning 29-3.   The only match they show OSU winning is 141 lbs against Penn State's Braden Davis.

So maybe I was too generous. 10 -0 more likely than 5-5. I can see Vega dropping one before Spratley, Forrest, Vega, Robideau, and Doucet all win on the same day.

It's not about who would win today. It's about cultivating a rivalry that would be great to see over the years. Plus, Cael needs to schedule better quality out-of-conference duals.

Yes, this is what most non-PSU folks want. I bet even some of the faithful want these matches, too. It seems obvious. It's good for the sport. Team-oriented duals are the best way to turn casuals into fans. You can root for your school even if you don't know what's going on, and it's decided in 90 minutes. Etc etc.

But Sanderson doesn't "need" to do anything except keep winning. And, if he's winning while not scheduling VATech or NCState or OSU, what's the incentive to change? I assume  parity is not on his to-do list.

I do find the lack of reactions takes away a lot of what makes a forum enjoyable to follow. Without the reactions I will never know if anyone likes this post or not unless they quote it : )

It would be funny if Cael says to David that hey I will dual you but we have to take the last weekend of the season spot from Iowa. Would it be petty? Sure. But stealing the biggest dual spotlight night of the season from Iowa would be great.
