@creek chub, or any one here, are you going to this dual?  I live a couple hours away and am considering going to either this or ACC’s…looks like no ticket is required for the dual, it’s free?

Yes admission is free at Cassell. Parking might be a challenge so I’d get there early

Yes did see that.  Which do you think would be better to attend if had to pick one?

Would getting a seat be an issue?

Generally speaking getting a decent seat is not a problem. It’s a decent sized building so you can spread out.

Friendly suggestion, go sit on the visitor side because the VT side will fill in.

Seems like the OSU fans have been traveling pretty well from what I’ve seen…

Try not to sit behind that old guy with the grey beard and the cowboy hat. It might obstruct your view.

which colors you wearing? the Pokies or the Hokies?

I'm personally more excited for ACC tourney but I've been to plenty of duals at Cassell so its more about how rare it is. Dual's at Cassell have a good environment and welcoming an opponent like OSU it will probably be a better atmosphere, on the flip side there is more wrestling and higher stakes at the ACC's

I’m a hokie but a fan of the sport first. This should be a great dual.

I’ll also probably have young kids with me so thinking a dual might be less likely for them to get bored lol

I said when he gets up against a tough wrestler.   You keep pointing out Knox like it's a huge accomplishment, he's #21 on wrestlestat for a reason as he doesn't have a decent win all season and has lost to anyone with a pulse.

Returning AA with losses to Blaze, Larkin, and Seidel. A 12-0 win over Knox is a quality win. If we don't give credit for beating a guy like Tyler Knox then Blaze has the Ayala win and nothing else. Could be a fluke in that case.

Maybe the dual should start at 141 and OSU would save Jax if they need him.   Seems like there’s a possible path for VT to win especially with no Jax depending on how the bonus points go

Probably best case scenario for VT would be:

141 Vega Dec Crook 3-0 OSU

149 Gaj Dec Swiderski 3-3

157 Robideau Dec Miller 6-3 OSU

165 Lockett Dec Church 9-3

174 Facundo Dec Desiante 12-3

184 Ryder Dec Bullock 15-3

197 Sasso Dec Merrill 15-6

285 Mullen Dec Doucet 15-9

125 Ventresca Dec Spratley in rideouts 15-12

133 Seidel maj Ramirez 16-15 VT

Gaj is likely out until ACC's with an injury. Gorman going friday so Swiderski will be seeing a backup 141 if I had to guess. I've seen crazier things than Bullock over Ryder if we're looking for a path?

With you bringing young kids go with the dual. More exciting atmosphere and shorter so better for the attention span.

Good analysis

Gaj is out with an injury and true freshman Gorman is bumping up from 141

Idk I took my daughter (8) to B1G in College Park a couple of years ago and she found enough weirdness to keep her occupied for the entire semifinals. Whathisname's beard (from NW) was a source of endless fascination.

Gorman's 5th date is against UNC though right? I was thinking DiBella, Bachionni, or something for Sunday although my Freshman RS Math has been wrong before....often

There's gonna be some pins, techs and majors in place of some of those dec.  Pretty sure Ryder won't be there, heard rumor maybe not Swiderski but think OSU has a good 149 replacement.  I'd expect to see Jax but both prob make the trip.

He has been banged up, but I don't think it's bad so possibly

If his knee is good enough, he has the horsepower to hang with ok state.
