OSU vs Iowa State

Elam with a BLATANT stall in final seconds.  Merrill to feet. Elam picks him up.  Holds him there … and the walks him off the mat while in the air.  How is that not stalling?  Has full … FULL … control and he carries the guy OOB.

And then Merrill called for stalling for not returning Elam in rideouts.  Same situation for 10s and no stall called

its really not looking good for Iowa for the dual. Or their season overall with the expectations.

Sorry fellas had to endure 4 hours of bingo for a fund raiser, snuck watched the matches though. I am confused as to how Elam was able to lift cody in the air for 7 seconds without returning him and did not get hit.

It happened recently in another match as well i want to say during penn state vs nebraska but im not 100%. Just wrestle.

Close and questionable calls at 197 but that was absolutely the best I've seen Merrill look all year. He looked like the better wrestler in that match. It was good to see him actually look to score multiple times.

The official refused to decide the match on the stall call.  Merrill did the same thing minus the lift in OT.  It was a really, really badly officiated match when neither really wanted to work for a TD.  Elam got scared of Merrill scrambling so didn't shoot and Merrill might not have a shot so they both decide to go to OT early in the match and tried to stall to get there.

Merrill nearly scored early in the match when Elam for whatever reason decided to literally grab him by the trachea. 

Merrill was in deep again and nearly scored in OT.

I would normally say Merrill doesn't look to work for a TD, but shockingly enough to me, he did in this match.

It's the subjective nature of folkstyle refs who are intimidated by certain coaches.

I missed the Elam starting the first exchange. I'm rooting for Merrill to develop, but honestly, both being off of Elam's shot sounds more like him.
