Well, this is what the brass and idiots wanted.   Drastically reduced police force so criminals have an easier time victimizing whoever and whenever they want.   I used to live just south of the twin cities and this is just really sad.   But they are bringing this onto themselves.  Hopefully they get the leave and the consequences of that follow.

MN paid leave more popular than expected! "Turns out filling out a form and saying you're depressed or have anxiety for 2 hours in order to get 13 weeks off of work with full pay is super popular in MN, weird!!"

'You can take up to 12 weeks for one leave'
'Paid Leave pays part of your normal pay. Most people will receive between 55% and 90% of their regular wages while on leave, with a maximum amount set at the state's average wage. Right now, this is $1,423 per week.'

Again, did you take a second or 30 to research this yourself? If you did you would've found that the quote you used is inaccurate. Do you care? If not, why?

I do care, I got sloppy with the quote. I mainly wanted to post the update on the program.

Do you care about the program budget and how underestimating its popularity is a problem?

The story is behind a paywall so I cannot read or validate any of the information.

But if I had to guess, ya a program like that would be pretty popular. Considering people put off life events sometimes for years because they DON'T HAVE paid leave.
Getting a bit of a cushion to aid in better work/life balance is a good thing.

The post you added used the word 'failing' . How do they use that word in the context of this story? Would you agree?

do you care that people got 55-90 % of their income for basically just taking days off?

Seems to really bother you that people are using their benefits lmao. Everyone gets different time off structure should we care that you get paid for taking a day off if it’s in your employment agreement?

When all the benefit administrators and HR are home on mental leave, there will be no one to process the “benefits.”

It’s just another social program where eventually you run out of other people’s money and effort.

Do you feel the same way regarding the military getting 30 days off a year? Same thing they are getting paid for being at home with your tax dollars funding it

Provide evidence that they are 'just taking days off' or you have no justification for making that assumption.

What is the point of this post?
Do you want this to be true to justify your disagreement with the policy?
What would it mean if the policy if successful?

Remember, 'I just don't like it' is not a good reason.

If that isn't the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is. You are the queen of this reasoning.

It's math,  someone has to be paid to do the work many are suddenly not.   I didn't even call you a bad thing!
