Limit was I believe 9.9 at the time. They were using a hair over 14 per year I believe - NCAA only looked at 4 yrs, so the punishment period was 4 yrs, Iowa was likely doing this much longer. So NCAA punished like 4.x a year for 4 yrs - SOOO 9.9 MINUS 4.x for 4 yrs - so they operated with like 5.x ish during the period, is my understanding of this from 30yrs ago. Gable retired shortly after…like a year or 2. And as things played out, Iowa started winning less and less.

When you said they reduced their scholly limit by 5 I thought you meant they went from the almost 15 they were using down to the regular 10 when you said they deducted 5 schollies.
