Fighting the Good Fight Against Non-Stop Winger Lies and Hypocrisy

my neighbor was getting migraines and didn't read or know of Tylenol side effects or dosage limitations. In 2 weeks of thinking they were strong aspirin he totally shut down his kidney function and was on dialysis for the rest of his life. no drinking involved. but taking like 4-5 at a time every 5 hrs

The announcement was that Tylenol's safety testing fell somewhere between lacking and nonexistent.  That independent studies have shown a correlation between Tylenol use by expectant women and autism.  And most promising, signs that leucovorin has some healing qualities for autism.  Trump allowed that this could be the most significant accomplishment of his presidency.

They also announced that studies will continue looking at other causes (vaccines, etc,) and the difference in severity, or levels, of autism.

Tylenol may have the highest unintentional overdose numbers of any OTC meds.  The therapeutic dose and the OD levels are relatively close to one another.

It can be pretty dangerous stuff, regardless of links to autism.

He gave 110% false info either way. Theres no established cause effect relationship. Not even close.  He's an idiot. Can't even pronounce acetaminophen.

Awfully convenient that none of these guys obsessed with autism and vaccines ever acknowledge the most strongly correlated risk factor (besides family history) for autism we've found - older fathers. The risk of autism escalates dramatically if the father is older than 40. It doubles if the father is older than 50.

People don't like these obvious answers because there isn't an easy solution.

The 'increase' in cases of autism we've seen is almost entirely accounted for by increased vigilance in diagnosis and society steadily having children at later ages.

The real danger here is that pregnant women afraid of autism will either:

1) take ibuprofen or aspirin instead - which are already demonstrated scientifically to be unsafe

or

2) Not treat fevers or headaches at all, which can also be dangerous for the baby (particularly the fever part).

This reminds me a little about the concern about Myocarditis and the Covid vaccine. Yes, there seems to be an increased risk in those who were vaccinated. But those same studies also showed that the risk of Myocarditis from the vaccine was way lower than the risk of Myocarditis from actually getting Covid, especially severe cases of Covid which are much more prevalent in unvaccinated people. If you were actually concerned about Myocarditis and you understand risk assessment, getting the vaccine was clearly the best way to avoid it. But we have a media ecosystem (and a generally ignorant public) that doesn't explain these things.

Doing a quick search…isn’t it older mothers also?

Yes (and very, very young mothers), but with a much lower correlation than older fathers.

Honestly curious, can you share what you think are the best studies on this?

Fortunately he wouldn't be able to pronounce the word 'oxygen' so all would be saved by the unintended consequences of his incomprehensible speech patterns.

The other negative affect of tying Tylenol to autism is all those out there that truly are ignorant or lacking intelligence (and there are a lot of people regardless of political leanings) that are going to refuse to give their children medicine when they have high fevers which can be severely damaging to brain development.
