“There is a good-faith debate on whether the existing record supports a claim that Mamdani is a communist. However, there is ample reason to suggest that he is a Marxist. That should be a matter of significant concern, particularly as the possible head of government in the world’s greatest financial center.”   Jonathan Turley

Who is primarily voting for him?   Google says it’s 67% of the young voters 18-34 and something like 75% of Asians. Are those #s accurate or Google whack-ness?

Actually, my life is far from gloomy. I’m a free human being living in a dictatorship. You, on the other hand, are a prisoner of ignorance living in a free country. A person like me stays free even in prison - but someone like you is in chains no matter where you go.

No chains around my feet, but I’m not free.
I know I am bounded in captivity.

You’re ahead of me…
An old Persian poem comes to mind. Here’s a rough translation of a few lines:

Someone who doesn’t know, but knows they don’t -
they might stumble along, but they’ll get where they’re going.

Someone who doesn’t know, but wants to -
they’ll break free from ignorance, body and soul.

Someone who doesn’t know, and doesn’t know they don’t -
they’ll stay stuck in their own ignorance forever.

And someone who doesn’t know and doesn’t care to -
honestly, it’s a shame they’re even still around.

All of a sudden he’s going to denounce the intifada.   What a phony.

That headline is misleading. He said exactly what he's said the entire time: [paraphrasing] "I don't use it and would not recommend others using it, but it's not the mayor's job to denounce free speech."

What headline?  He’s getting pressure and doesn’t want to lose votes so he’s backpedaling.

What you're referring to is what he reportedly said during a private meeting with NYC business owners. It's being reported as a backpedal, but when you actually look at the quote they're using, it's exactly what he's always said about the phrase. He hasn't changed anything.
