Not to change topics.  Start watching American Primeval?  (Netflix)

No spoilers.   It’s like 7 years pre civil war.   A war in Utah.    Brigham young … the us army…. An Indian tribe (a very specific one) …. It’s very fascinating.

your turn what should I watch of gary oldman?   Always looking for cool new stuff

edit: I have not seen overly religious stuff out of Brigham …. But I’m not done so I honestly don’t know where it’s going per se …..

Have you seen "The Professional" he's a top 5 villain.

He's amazing until he gets killed in the first 30 minutes of True romance.

Great as Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour.

Rivetting as the weirdest bad guy ever in Fifth Element...

He's great in the series Slow Horses but so far the show is stupid aside from him.

Darkest hour is boss.    I’ll look at the professional. Thanks.

I think that was just to change this topic... which is fine.

I liked  American Primeval to kill time, but...streaming has kinda been crushing it with the westerns.

Godless I think with Jeff Daniels. That series was awesome.

Jeff Daniels is part of a gang and they chase a guy who left...

There was another one, "Old Henry." That was a really cool premise.

I watched an episode or two of Slow Horses and got...bored. But I did the same with GOT, Breaking Bad. The Sopranos. All shows I didn't watch until well after they aired.

Slow horses is very good in every way accept the plots are very stupid and make no sense, so it ain't BB.

Yeah, I don't know what the hell my problem was, I went back and watched those other shows and they were great. I think having to watch one at a time is annoying to me. When you go from Walter is sick and dying, sees Jessie to the desert and they're having someone call Hank because they're hiding inside, It's just a better way to watch.

You see Godless though? Also, anything with Tom Hardy(not gay)...the guy is just in almost only good movies(I never saw Venom as that looked dumb, but Taboo or Peaky Blinders the new one, Mobland was great.

Godless though... That... is one of my top 5-6 favorite shows I've seen...at least in years. Just awesome.

Glad we're in agreement. Best actor ever, letalone of our lifetime.

The thing about him in the dark night @Husker_Du is its very straightforward and potential hot take, Nolan can't write the plots of his movies are often ridiculous, so he doesn't really have any acting to do...its like casting Tom Cruise as Jimmy Olson in the background of superman movie, he's just distracting.

Solid pick. Hard to argue.  My pick goes to Daniel Day Lewis.

It's such a subjective art form.  In general I disagree because he tends to do his absolute best stuff as a supporting role, not as a lead, but obviously to each their own.  I love him in True Romance and the Fifth Element in particular.

I find DDL to a bit pretentious in his performance, but obviously he's highly respected.

To me, I think DeNiro has the highest highs as a performer and leading man, and can do support roles, also; however, he has consistency issues.  That period from the late 80s thru the late 90s had some huge, huge highs, though.

I enjoy Hanks, but most of his best roles are all riffs on the same general persona.

I'm a big Nicholson fan, so his name deserves a (second) mention.

I think Matt Damon is incredibly underrated and is extremely versatile
