Koll knew the charges.  The University president, Director of Admissions, AD, etc. may not have.

And even if they did, they were sweeping the stuff under the rug, until people in the know started talking.

Koll’s been around the block.  I guarantee the AD and admissions staff knew.  The President, maybe not (and still might not)

No clue if these “reports” are true, but the difference between AJ is that any revenue he brings in would be a blip compared to a basketball player.  And I’m not really a Belichick fan but I don’t think it’s fair to lump him in with sexual misconduct.  If anyone is being taken advantage of in that relationship it’s him.

I'm well aware of the reasoning. That doesn't make it right.

Knowing is one thing.  When people are up in arms, especially over something like AJs history, "knowing" turns into action.

$550k/year for a one-time champ that isn't the favorite next year and has no senior level accolades? That number seems rather absurd for anyone not playing football or basketball, maaaaaybe baseball because there are some psycho donors in that realm.

They have some wrestling alums with very deep pockets. The Milwaukee Tools guy for instance, and that guy likes to give to wrestling.  Lots of former wrestlers work for them. (And check out Dake's truck at some point)

Didn't he take the ACTs about 5 years ago? Who cares at this point.

When was ferrari supposed to get to campus? His instagram is him grubbing for money in California, I'm pretty sure he should be in Chapel Hill training by now. Just a guess, but I wouldn't be surprised if he announced that he's show up when he felt like it and the deal got pulled.

Keep in mind this is someone who on his own video blog lied about when he woke up, then tried to attend practice but was so behind academically they made him go to study hall for the whole time instead....

And...

The ACT scores were cited as one of the foundations to Ferrari's admission which is pretty weird to anyone but a transfer administrator reviewing academic history. Most people his age are taking other important tests like the bar, MCATs, LSATs, CPA, GMAT, or actuarial exams. But we all know the Ford Focus isn't most people.

Does this mean AJ is gonna have to break down and go to PSU, Iowa or one of those other schools that were recruiting him?

For one thing, they aren't required.  But I guess if they are decent, you'd include them.

while I agree the number is large, I wouldn't give him $2 bucks for a cup of coffee

wasn't it reported that Iowa gave teemer 500k for 1 year to defect from ASU

The $ reported here isn't accurate. He got it from Ferrari's old man and he's outright lying about it.

I'm not buying this dean's list grade thing....sounds like AJ got ahold of mineo's phone

Sure but it’s not like it’s anything new.  And if AJ wasn’t a good athlete he probably wouldn’t have gotten into UNC in the first place.

Mineo wildly exaggerates NIL money.  And no matter where a guy goes or who is is, "Iowa offered him more NIL money."

They financed an iconic wrestling image.

Nah you're good no way Iowa lets him. He was already refused once and now has been unenrolled by a premiere instituion before he even stepped foot on campus. He is now considered radioactive and admins at the big league schools are not going to let him in at this point is my guess.
