Now that tickets are on sale to the general public, it seems like the next step is to seed the teams. If they are using the previous season's NCAA team scores to qualify teams for the lottery, wouldn't it make the most sense to just seed them the same way? Take out the subjectivity completely. How else should they do it? Or is seeding all irrelevant anyway, because TO BE THE MAN, YOU'VE GOT TO BEAT THE MAN?!

Just for S & G's then, if teams were seeded according to last season's finals points, the first round matchups would be as follows (giving Minnesota the tiebreaker over Ohio State because of their head-to-head-dual result):

(1) Nebraska vs (16) Wyoming

(8) Northern Iowa vs (9) Ilinois

(4) Minnesota vs (13) Lehigh

(5) Ohio State vs (12) Missouri

(2) Oklahoma State vs (15) Arizona St

(7) North Carolina State vs (10) Virginia Tech

(3) Iowa vs (14) Arkansas-Little Rock

(6) Cornell vs (11) Michigan

seeds won't be announced for a little bit.

talked to them yesterday.

seeding Top 4 than random draw.

Separating the top four and then random draw is the perfect format. It creates more excitement in the early rounds rather than watching top 4 slaughter the bottom 4 in rounder 1.

It's really just a weird move to not show up to this if you're PSU.

Make a million dollars and you get some good early competition and... I don't know, it's just good for the sport. I really don't get why you'd NOT want to do this.

But, this should be cool. Okie State vs Iowa...and then I'll take Ohio State. Iowa vs Ohio State Final this year...I think.

There's your reason.

You think Cael is adverse to doing things good for the sport? That THAT is in and of itself the reason?

I just don't think it aligns with his larger plans on peaking in March, but...I also just think that's a weak reason. And he doesn't think it matters.

What does he do for the good of the sport?

This is a stupid question and the onus isn't on me.

You made the statement that he specifically ISN'T doing this BECAUSE it's "Good for the sport."

So YOU are making the argument that he's actively acting against the sports best interest. That...is stupid in my opinion. You made the claim, not me. What does he do that's intentionally NOT for the "good of the sport?"

I would say building PSU into a National Powerhouse, the NLWC constantly churning out wrestlers who represent the USA and win World/Olympic medals, that's good for the sport, but again, doesn't matter as you're the one making the argument.

Well he won't do National Duals.  I don't recall him doing anything when Stanford dropped their program but maybe ...  That's 2, what do you have?

LOL....what an asinine example of circular logic.

Why aren't they participating in National Duels? Because he wants to actively hurt the sport.

'What do you base your logic on?'

That he's not participating in the National Duels.'

Oh, and you don't know if he did anything to help Stanford...I mean, nothing you RECALL, right?

what have other programs done to 'grow the sport' ?

Cael brought back the All Star classic from the dead.

he started National Collegiate Duals

He created the best dynasty currently in the sport.

He built and funds what is the de facto international training center for the US.

Love Cael, but it’s lame as hell not to do this event when everyone else is.  So lame.

So what, they are trying to create an event.  It’s a national duals.  Would be nice if everyone showed up.

He killed the original national duals…. Now this.

ffs, he did not kill the national duals.

he chose not to participate and the only reason anyone cared (and cares now) is because they are far and away the best team in the country.

the original national duals was at an absolutely asinine time of the year.

did Tom Brands kill Midlands? Who killed Wilkes Open? Did John Smith kill collegiate duals? did Mike Grey? who killed Southern Scuffle? Who killed Reno TOC?

Did David Taylor kill CKLV?

we get it. you hate cael and penn state. just say that instead of saying stupid things.

Agreed, their backups could be competitive. Teams can't do everything, Midlands used to be fun CKLV is always great and now the entire sport is budgeting to send a squad to this event and it seems like they're turning their nose up at it

Yeah, no, you're right. College Wrestling is just overflowing with money! Why could they use a MILLION dollars!

Ok...so if Iowa wins it, it means nothing because he killed it...using your logic. Got it.

So... to combat what you perceive to be PSU fans pre-emptive whining, you're pre-pre-emptively whining.

And making the argument that Cael is actively trying to harm the sport...
