Oh, look, someone heard someone else say a legal word and regurgitated it without actually knowing anything other than the most surface level thing!  Good luck to anyone bringing a libel suit under this situation against me or any of the dozens of much more public figures who said the same thing!

Do they?  He owns the hotel.  He could literally just give it to them for free.  You know, to save the government money.  Or he could charge them the same, lesser rate he charges the Qatari royal family.

"I have no argument on the actual merits of what's being discussed, so I default to ad hominem and semantics debates!"

He just saved the gov $400 million on a plane

I don’t particularly care, but I do agree with the point that it’s a bit silly to congratulate him for donating his salary considering he is profiting pretty nicely from being President.

How about congratulating him for saving the taxpayers $400 million on a plane.?

What????

He just accepted a $400 million dollar gift from Hamas' top state backer, no?

If simply criticizing Israel is "supporting terrorism" like you guys say every day on here, what would you call accepting bribes from Hamas' best friend?

It's time to start asking: Is Trump in the pocket of Hamas?

Yes. And out of that pocket, he just arranged the release of Edan Alexander, an American citizen held hostage by Hamas since October 2023.

While removing the requirement for Hamas to disarm from his ceasefire deal! Pretty much undercuts the entire Israeli justification for the war, no?

Oh look, somebody who’s been to law school (a considerable expense) is so arrogant that he disregards the lay person who sees the very real wrong he committed, and tries to claim accomplices when in reality he is the only one observed to actually claim a personal $400 million benefit.  I’m certain you are correct in that you’ll avoid prosecution but it’s not due to your truthfulness, it’s not due to some great number of cohorts, nor to my lack of understanding.  It’s due to the fact that it’s you who is superficial.

I see now that the always dependable @uncle bernard (sarc) is joining in the calumny.

I'm sure you've applied this level of grace/benefit of the doubt to the Biden family and Obama in the past, right? You're definitely not just trying to tell yourself a story because the guy you worship is doing something obviously corrupt. That would be beneath you....lol.

So outsourcing products from other countries is cool now?  Hard to keep up.

I’m sure there were no strings attached to this “gift”

Are you just playing semantics with the fact that he’ll have a plane worth $400 million and not $400 million in cash?

LOL.  I'll cop to arrogance, as will most lawyers, but you still simply have no idea what you're talking about.  First of all, they don't prosecute you for libel, it's a civil claim.  And any such suit in this situation would be thrown out immediately based purely on New York times Co. v. Sullivan (I'm sure you've heard of it).  I'm sorry your feelings are hurt because you don't know what you're talking about.  Legal words have legal meanings in legal contexts, and while it's arrogant to say you have no idea what you're talking about...it's also true, as evidenced by all your word salad.

No.  @VakAttack said $400 million.  I don’t see a dollar value to Trump.  He gets a nice plane regardless.  It would be like saying refurbishing the White House makes him richer.

Well first off you do not have any idea the details behind this...this was NOT gifted to Trump, it was gifted by Quatar's Department of Defense to the US DOD...which the US DOD said it COULD be retrofitted to replace Airforce 1, but it isn't the final decision.  Trump's administration indicated that before accepting the gift they have to make sure the legality of it.  Heck...even the left MSM CNN gives the details. Legal details over accepting Qatari plane to use as Air Force One ‘still being worked out,’ White House says | CNN Politics  🙄

And you saying that you or RV have "simply criticized Israel" Is so far from the actual truth and you know it.  Not to mention your claim that Qutar is Hamas' "best friend" is extremely dishonest and a big leap from their actual relationship.  A simple google search will give you their "relationship" rather quickly and is far from indicating they are "best friends" or actually supporting their military and terrorist activities.

Is that the art of the plea deal?  Cop to the lesser character flaw and disregard the blatant falsehoods?

Nope.  You not liking something, or even agreeing with it, does not a falsehood make.  Sorry bucko.  But it's good that you're trying to steer this away from the actual legalities onto more simple ground.

Qatar gifts a $400  million airplane.   Trump uses it as Air Force one.   Then the fool allows his library to have it.   If the it decommissioned, it no longer flies.   What good would the $400 million be?   If it is not decommissioned, and it does fly, the costs of flying are immense, much cheaper with his 757.   If it is refurbished into an AF-1, it will be the Federal Govts money that he would have to reimburse.  Refurbing a 747 into AF-1 capable is not cheap.  So I'm really not following the how he will be $400 million richer unless he sells it.   I don't see how it is not used for future Presidents until Boeing makes good on their contract.     And then Trump would have to reimburse the government for the refurb job if the govt lets him take it to his library at all.

So I'm really not following how he will be $400 million richer unless he sells it, which he will not be able to do because it is loaded with super secret upgrades.

I’m extending no grace or benefit of doubt.  I’m going with reality.

Isn’t it a fact the plane is worth $400 million and it didn’t cost the taxpayers anything?
