You mean hodgins from NJ? Haven't heard about him in a while but I know we got a visit from him. He's going to be legit, feel like he's been really good lately

Yes, Tanner. Yes he’s gonna be very good.

No way to do this but I’d love to see how 2027 stacks up to 26 and 25 in terms of monies (NIL and Rev Share). I guess no real way to track that but wonder what trend is doing, is it decreasing/increasing/staying flat….idk interesting all for sure.

also noting if that money comes in the actual scholarship (tax free) versus if it comes in the form of a payment to you approved through Deloit (40 pct tax more or less). Feel like when people say x amount of money they are almost never accounting for taxes on that, which definitely are a thing. All very interesting.

Hokie- VT was in on Hodges right? Really like the kid, gonna be a great get for someone.

He just took a visit to Michigan

Iowa is throwing crazy money. I know VT said no to a few kids because of NIL asks and the kids ended up at Iowa bc it just wasn't worth it, and some of the kids are pretty high up there. We've got a decent amount of cash, it's just not smart to give some of these guys what they're getting unless they are a sure thing day 1 All American.

It's not all those silver medals at 57kg on the world stage, or the "American pride" from DeSanto. It's Bob's bank account.

How many senior level medals does VT have?

Is Iowa done in 2027 now bc of the 28 bonuses coming (brothers)? Not asking to be a jerk and I’m not an Iowa hater, I think them having a big class is great. Also not trying to start a debate about money, just wonder with the kids they brought in is that a wrap on 2027’s due to roster spots? Coaches have to be super strategic id guess now but resources are less of an issue than say ten years ago.

Iowa had not done very well recruiting the past few years so it makes sense why they would have plenty of funds for new recruits. Look how many seniors there will be off scholarship next year. Dean, Drake, Caliendo, PK, Endene. I would guess all of those guys are getting nearly full scholarships.

I'm guessing they’re still after Dhabolt

Hope ncst gets him. I am very impressed with nc state.

I'm hopeful VT lands one of Konopka or Hodgins. Both visited. It's a weight we need and both are very talented.

Have to think good odds one goes one place and the other to the other.

I've always been a ncst fan growing up around the hilday's and at Bison. Seems like they have a great thing going there, and they have a bit of a pipeline with the Jack brothers.

Saw it up close and can confirm. Staff does a great job developing and they are relevant every year. Really respect what they are building and doing there.

Carter Chunko to Rutgers. #49 c/o 2027. Saw it on X. Apologies if this was already reported. Thread moving along quickly.

Rutgers is doing a great job at recruiting the Lehigh Valley and the Sasso addition will likely help that continue

That area is so good, produced so many kids, good for RU. PA is soooo deep all the time, good to see another good landing spot for those kids.

I think Dhabolt is overrated personally

Overrated? Or you don't think he'll pan out in college relative to his current HS rank? Because there's a big difference.

If you think he's overrated, I'll argue with you until I'm blue in the face on that. 2nd at Super 32 (loss to Melvin Miller), loss at WNO to Miller, went 5-2 at Elite 8 Duals (both losses to Miller), 3rd at Fargo (loss to Miller in semis). Those are arguably four of the toughest HS events, and he only lost to Miller (who's a generational talent) at all of them. I don't think that's overrated.

Now if you think he won't pan out in college relative to his current HS rank, I can't speak on that because I honestly haven't watched many of his matches. I just see his results.

Yeah, 5 losses in a few months sounds bad, until you learn they are all to Melvin Miller.  I think Dhabolt will be very good in college and has a frame that looks like he might jump up a few weight classes.
