I'm going out on a limb, but I bet it's related to US government regulations somehow. They are actively deporting foreign students like crazy right now, for example, regardless of the status of their visas, passports, etc. To be honest I'm shocked that Ono would want to come to the USA right now, if I was a foreigner I'd be steering well clear of the USA.

You're shocked?  He gets to train at one of the top rooms in the world for a year - for free.

I'm shocked that you're shocked.

This entire concept of shockediness is preposterous.

I think as long as he's following the rules and isn't protesting anything, he is probably going to be ok?

I wouldn't bet on it. We don't have a sane, rational person running this country right now.

How many non-protesting students of from Japan have been deported?

But, I would prefer to keep this thread non-political (especially since it is only unfounded speculation), and know about his actual eligibility.  This could have repercussions for Davis/Blaze/Nagao etc.

I don't know. Maybe none. But Trump has been agitating the Japanese a lot lately. He pissed them off so much they are selling off American debt, which is making the dollar decline. I could easily see a baby-man like Trump just willy-nilly writing up an illegal executive order deporting people to show his supporters he's a "tough guy" and won't brook any backtalk from countries like Japan.

Anyway, that's the last I'll mention of it. Trump's supporters are awfully sensitive fellows and I don't want to upset them.

The whole last line is an attempt to upset people, otherwise it wouldn't have been typed! 🤣

Again, I'm not sure this is the correct forum to discuss this, but I don't forsee Ono camping out on the PSU common while appropriating a keffiyah.

Pretty sure pistol duel scheduling should take place in NWT or the Zoo.  🤨

I don’t think politics should be discussed in the wrestling forum.  There is a non wrestling topic forum for this type of banter.

True enough, but in this instance the anti-foreigner stance of the mercurial infant in the White House is relevant. The people who don't think it's relevant apparently haven't noticed that people are being illegally deported by the conman, and also they apparently aren't aware of the current animus between DC and Japan, all caused by the baby-man in DC. Predictably, like all Trumpers, they either feign ignorance or, most likely, don't have to feign ignorance of the situation.
