Yes, as opposed to weight cutting.

You muscle and bone density is loss with these weight loss drugs.

Grok says that my characterization is accurate.

Humans have been cheating since the dawn of time.  Humans will continue to do so.   Even in our great sport.  In all walks of life there are cheats.   I would think there are almost no arguments to sway me of this idea.

If it was REALLY cheating, they’d have a robust system to prevent it.  The NCAA and olympics only care to the exact amount they have to to maintain sponsorship income.  The US is one of the few countries that doesn’t have state sponsored pharmacology as part of national team training programs(that we know of).

It’s been in football, basketball, and track and field since the beginning of time, and just about everybody knows some dude who was chemically enhanced from high school.  We also know that every other country uses everything possible to support their training.  It was there way before money got introduced.

Now that money is formally in college wrestling for the first time ever, it is unavoidable that the sport experiences an uptick in exogenous supplementation, but really, who cares?  We’ve been watching people on steroids forever, most people just randomly clutch pearls around this one topic.  For the health of future athletes, we shouldn’t.

Testing began almost 60 years ago.  The same year of Super Bowl I.  Just Because other countries cheat doesn’t mean everyone should.   I think it’s cheating.  You’re welcome to your opinion.

I think doing 8th grade twice to get bigger is a form of cheating too.   Legal cheating but immoral.

I don’t think it’s great, but it’s also part and parcel of competing, and mixed messages puts all athletes at greater risk.  It prevents educated discussion around proper use of gear, and it also means some athletes don’t use and then go out and get absolutely mauled, which isn’t exactly great for their orthopedic health either.

Also, when I refer to testing I mean real testing which is a blood test, not a urine test.

And the interesting thing is that Sanderson has never been accused by anyone who matters.   I mean it's a proven fact that the disgraced Dan Gable is a cheater.

i based it on the idea that Caveira wasn't implying its hard to make a higher weight, but if I took it to mean "how did he miss 79?" i am surprised as well.

I don't. I never came across anyone who did steroids in HS or College...

I did know one guy who was a prison guard who inferred he did... but I'm pretty sure he just spent a lot on questionable supplements rather than actually using steroids.

How? I'm genuinely curious...since people throw this around. If we're going to disgrace the titans of the sport, please have more than the nonsense this thread has been filled with about Penn State.
