If Iowa lands the Raney brothers that will give them 2 top 5 wrestlers, 3 top 10 wrestlers, and 4 top 15.  Each of these would be the most at Iowa under Brands.  Iowa's previous best in a single season was 1 top 5 recruit, 2 top 10 recruits, and 3 top 15 recruits.

Would be huge for them, but if they don't achieve great things, tom and ter-bear will be gone

Don't forget that Iowa has the most popular Director of Operations the B1G Ten Network has ever seen. Folks are quick to forget that Caitlin Clark is a distant second in the race for most popular women's alum in Iowa athletics history and screen time proves it

The topic is TnT's recruits, these were not.

The new Topic is...Pedantic.

Pedantic.

Seriously, what's the argument here?

Tom Brands recruited kids to Va Tech. They went there because of Tom Brands...that is particularly clear because most of them were from Iowa.

They all transferred to Iowa when Tom AND Terry went back to Iowa. Is the issue that Terry wasn't involved enough or...what? Please explain how "these were not?"

No wonder idiots on the internet want them to be fired with consistent results like that

Yeah...far be it for me to speak for "the internet," and...I'm pretty indifferent on the Iowa thing, but when their fan base sees Oklahoma State just blow right past them while hiring a younger legend after their older legend moves on and Iowa finishes 4th this year, 5th last year...

It almost feels more insulting TO Iowa FROM Iowa fans. If being really good and the #3 program(which...is definitely where they're trending) are the "consistent" results, then...alright.

To my mind, it'd be like Ohio State Football just being cool with Michigan passing them up and being like, 'well yeah, who has beat us other than Michigan?' Isn't that the whole thing? Ohio State, Alabama(more competitive teams in CFB, but I feel like the point stands).

But hey, if consistently producing 125/133 pound studs is the goal, Iowa is the place to go!

Losing to Iowa in the dual and beating Iowa by 1 spot at NCAAs is blowing by them? Ok.

For those in the back who are having difficulty with comprehension:
- Tom was appointed HC at Iowa on April 5th, 2006.
- Terry officially joined the Iowa Staff on October 1st, 2008 as an Assistant.

Any recruit before October 1st, 2008 was not a TnT recruit.  That is what Ionel is trying to say here (I think?).

See ^^ above ^^ if still sitting in the back.

Terry Coaching:

- Iowa assistant until 2000

- Nebraska assistant 2000-2001

- Year off 2001-2002

- Chattanooga HC 2002-2005

- USA Wrestling Resident Coach 2005-2008

- Iowa AHC 2008-present

Tom coaching:

- Iowa assistant until 2004

- VTech HC 2004-2006

- Iowa HC 2006-present

There was ~8/9 years there (sometime in 2000 until late 2008) where nobody was recruited by TnT.

Yup. It was Taylor's first year.

You DON'T think Oklahoma State is passing Iowa?

You're either lying to me or yourself...I don't know who.
