On the challenge, it goes back to where the move didn't change, therefore the clock rolls back to the time before the 2nd tilt.  I think that's how it works.........

They still gave Real 2 backpoints out of that challenge, though,  so they have him the initial 2, then said he didn't change his hold.  Which is true!  But he still could have (and did) hold him for the full 4, thus giving him the 2 additional points.  Theoretically.

They go back to wherever the challenge was won at and nothing after the challenge counts. It’s a weird rule that doesn’t make much sense.

Hmmm. Ok.  So because they actually awarded the 2NF, indicating a hold change, nothing after that matters. Got it. Stupid, but got it.
