I'm not saying this as an Illini fan [i am partially] but as a heavyweight who is pounding the sand saying a 285 cultural change has happened. Cohlton Schultz is literally everything I hate about stereotype heavyweight wrestling. He needs to clean up his diet and act like he gives two hoots about being a successful senior athlete. I hope Gable doesn't get caught under his titties and takes him to the woodshed.

I mean kerk (I’m a few mins behind in the broadcast) is doing negative 0 on top.  Meanwhile Stevenson gets 35 stall calls in the first period.

Kerk's only move since coming on the scene has been to look at the ref with a befuddled look wondering why they aren't going back to feet. He forgets it isn't freestyle szn

Come on, seriously Slava could have been hit two other times he wasn’t….. he literally jumped out of bounds a couple times and ran out a couple others…… he wasn’t even engaged with Stevenson a couple times just backed out as Stevenson advanced ……

i literally have never seen a match that embarrassing, I mean yeah Gable is an absolute monster but to just concede and runaway like that….. crazy….. now that was Rutgers “Boom” wrestling for you lol

I watched the match closely and was completely befuddled. Stevenson was getting frustrated at Slava - I wondered if Slava is nursing an injury and just took the loss.  Never seen anything like that at this level. Stevenson one time jumped out of the circle to force the ref.

I'm all for calling stalling, but that was overkill.  By a lot.  

Yes, he was backing up, but it was pretty mild. He also got shoved out of bounds some of the times he was called for backing out.  Truth is, most refs would've only called him once during this whole sequence, which honestly wasn't that unusual for a heavyweight match where one guy is more powerful than the other.  A good ref would've dinged him at twice, *maybe* a third time.  But this guy? He dinged him 3 times in the first 40 seconds, and then twice more over the next 1:30. 

There's a reason the crowd was booing.  It felt like the ref took the match away from us.

My comment wasn't defending Slava but the randomness that stalling is called.   I forget what match it was but one wrestler had like 5-6 shots to none, backs other wrestler to the edge, other wrestler circles back in so wrestler's back is on the line, wrestler takes one step back and is hit.    

Hoffman's head was on the mat for 5 minutes.  Either he needed hit or Kerk did.   Refs are only calling stalling on the edge and personally I think it's kind of gutless.
