When Steveson stopped wrestling with about 10 seconds left, so did Kerkvliet. They both knew. Steveson even went for the handshake before time was up. Boss move.

Employing all these incredibly realistic (and somewhat creepy) tactics to appear and smell dead to predators is a much more effective way for opossums to stay safe, than running or fighting (via A-Z Animals).

If a wrestler plays opossum, shouldn't his opponent get back points or, minimally, stall calls in his favor?  Btw: has a wrestler ever actually died on the mat? Any known cases?   Thousands, of course, have given up and acted like they were dead.

Real opossums are very good to have around.   They don't carry rabies and they eat things that could harm us.  I have a few living under my porch.  They sometimes eat the leftover food at night that I put out for stray cats during the day.  I had a baby opossum who would sleep on the porch chair.

There high schools were 15 miles apart. Kerk was going to wrestle for the Gophs but got too big.

So kerk played possum to tactically learn stuff from gable so he can win next time….. because Carl.   And gable took it super easy on him because they are best friends.  Something is fishy about this theory.

Kerk avoided getting majored which looked like his goal.   I agree it didn't look like he was trying to win but I think that is because he knew if he opened up, Gable could score more. 

The PSU strategy seemed to be avoid a TD battle and try to win on an escape or RT point. Maybe steal a late TD.      It's likely not going to work but its probably his only chance.

Agreed.  I saw Cael with brass knucks in his pocket. He started to pull them out but realized that it would be best for the NCAA finals, unless he needs to pull them out at Hendrickson first.  If so, he's got powder ready to throw in Gable's eyes.
