Escobedo at IU should be but he won't be. 2 AA's during his 9 seasons, a 6th in '25 and and 8th in '26. He has failed to land the elite, or near elite, in-state talent and what he does get hasn't developed. Case in point, Gabe Sollars. Sollars and Stephen Little traded matches in HS, sollars teched him in freestyle after their senior seasons. Does anybody really thing Sollars would keep it to a regular decision now? Very unlikely. Purdue is getting the talent that doesn't leave the state. Should be concerning for IU, but it won't be. At least Goldman could produce a couple of national champs and frequently had AA's.

I'd put AJ Ferrari on this list. Absolutely awful to watch. Loved when Bastida rag dolled him.

I believe that wrestling is only fun when you are winning. It makes all the training worthwhile. If you are constantly getting beat in competition, wrestling loses the fun part. When I was just stating out, wrestling was a novelty for me. I don't think I won a match during my first 2 and half seasons. It was hardly fun, just a way for my parents to keep my doing something until baseball season started. I started winning in 3rd grade, finished 6th at freestyle state. From then on it became fun. My HS team was ranked 1st in the state, and senior year we were top 20 in the nation. Kicking people's butts every week is a lot of fun.

A 51 year old man who hasn't wrestled in 30+ years and was nowhere close to elite...What a great idea.

My buddy and I met him in Philly at the '25 NCAA's. We were at the Rocky statue and saw him walk up. He was very gracious and took a few pics with us. He was the baddest man on the planet for my generation so to meet him was awesome!

All three Lee brothers skipped their senior year of HS and were at the NLWC for a year before enrolling. Worked out well for Nick, but not so much Joe and Matt.

Not a chance it happens. They will have to take down Clinton and other politicians, power brokers, celebs, etc. The names will never get released.

Unless LL can figure out how to not get turned by spencer he won't win. His win at the US Open was a fluke and spencer dominated him at final x. Knox may progress to come close to LL but he's not close to spencer. Unless spencer's body fails him, its his weight through the Olympics.

Those jobs are all going to pay them way more than being an asst coach. Can't blame them for putting themselves and their families in a better financial position.

This. Riding without any real attempts to turn is the norm now. Lots of parallel rides just to build up riding time with no thought of turning their opponent. NF should be scored to earn the riding time point.

did friday and Saturday last year in Philly. nosebleeds on friday and lower level on Saturday for the finals. Wasn't cheap, but my buddy lives there so i was able to save money on lodging. and got a cheap flight into philly. I can drive to st louis next year and can stay with a cousin. Might splurge on tickets for that one.

Right. That's why the wrestlers need to take some accountability. Hell, sparks and gibbons even pointed out in the 184 match that both of the coaches scored points and had non stop action, but the 184s were basically stalling the entire match

I have no doubt he preaches that in the room. But the Brands don't step on the mat. Some, or maybe most, is on the wrestlers who step on the mat and don't do much of anything. In the case of this particular dual, Penn St is just head and shoulders above Iowa from a talent perspective, and that probably isn't changing anytime soon.

That was the worst match I've watched in a long time. Neither guy deserves the #1 ranking after that snoozefest. I thought AJ ferrari was boring with his escape/riding time point strategy, but angelo may be worse.
