Happel dropping would also insinuate both Alirez and Jamison drop as well, correct?

Alirez drops because of his loss to Jamison and not winning his conference. His highest quality win is Composto or Frost, which aren't abd by any means.

I think Vombaur gets the 5, Alirez will get the 6, Happel the 7, Jamison the 8. Had Jamison won, he would've jumped Alirez. But I could see Happel above Alirez due to winning Big 12 and beating Jamison a couple times.

In his 2 wins over defending champ Jesse Mendez Bartlett has scored ALL of the takedowns...

I never said he couldn't score. It's just painful to watch his matches for the entire 7 minutes.

141 is going to be a volatile bracket and the quarters on should be a lot of fun matches.  Head will be on a swivel trying to track all the action.  Hardy has some tricks and I hate to miss his matches.  He is entertaining!

I think the #1 criteria is conference tournament then hvh. Hopefully the committee doesn't devalue conference tournament results we see teams not wrestling a schedule at all.

Hapel

Hardy

Bartlett

Mendez

Is it as painful as watching half the Hawkeye team not get takedowns?

Conference tournament result is third behind head-to-head and quality wins.

It might be different for this. No reason hardy shouldn't be highest ranked B1g wrestler.  Need to reward wrestling.  Psu is killing the sport not wrestling the way it is

When they wrestled, Bartlett beat Hardy.

No, it is not different for this. That is pretty straight forward.

What is not straight forward is if the committee will use their veto power to move guys up or down up to three spots from the formulaic result. 141 seems like the most likely place that will happen given the way the season played out.

As for that last sentence, huh?

His losses to Happel, Jamison, and Bartlett aren't taken into consideration? Bartlett is going to come out on the formula ahead of Hardy. He may come out ahead of Mendez due to the H2H and conference finish criteria, but Mendez will be ahead in the ranks, common opponents, win %, and at least even with quality wins.

Mendez was ranked higher than Hardy before this weekend but I would be shocked if he will be ahead of him after the weekend.

Yes, Mendez is usually the agressor

IDK, from what I remember when they've wrestled each other the pace and offensive output has been equal.  I don't remember Mendez taking one shot in their finals match last year

not at either of these weights but where does Paniro fit in at 149? he is 17-1 at the weight and a conference champ. Does he slide into the 3 behind henson and Ridge?

The coaches might due to recency bias, but they shouldn't. RPI will still have Mendez ahead.

Why shouldn't Hardy be ranked higher?

Hardy will have head to head and higher conference finish.  I am presuming rankings.   Even if he is lower in RPI, he should still come out above Mendez.

Because he has losses to Jamison (who Mendez beat) and Happel. While good losses as they will both be top-8 seeds, they are still losses that Mendez doesn't have.

If I had to guess...

149: 1- Henson 2- Lovett 3- Paniro 4- SVN

Hardy 1-1 vs Mendez and won bigs. Hardy gets the nod
