this is sport.   The back and forth I hate Iowa I hate psu is water cooler sports nonsense.  It’s barely even relevant to life.   We argue cause we are fans.  But we have no business knowing financials of what kids make.

When (if) the House settlement is approved next week, that will change in some places and not in others. Then at least some of the numbers will likely be published by public universities. But that will only affect direct payments from the schools. NIL will still be private.

If it’s their athlete it’s theirs to make public.  Sounds like what I’m asking for is coming soon huh?

That's very naive.  What you know is these people's SALARY.  That's only a part of "how much they make".  (The bigger the crook, the larger the difference.)

Level A - 401k match as a % based on years of service plus medical/life

Level B -  see above plus bonus 

Level C - See above plus stock options/Retiree Medical 

Level D - See above plus pension

Level E - See above plus RSU’s 

Level F - See above plus Buyout

I don’t hate Iowa or Penn st or anyone that’s doing what they’re doing.  Have at it. Just do it with transparency.  Why isn’t that a good thing ?

I'm not going to sugar coat this. I think @JimmySpeaks is a complete imbecile. But I do agree that what students are earning directly from Universities (once the monet is no longer being laundered through collectives/boosters etc) should be public knowlege. College is now professional sports and just like in the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, etc. where contracts are disclosed publicly, so too should the money college athletes are making so that there is a more fair market value. I don't know if you or Wkn agree or disagree with that sentiment. In the current landscape, there is no reason to disclose NIL deals, but once money is coming directly from the institutions, IMO, that changes everything.
