Flo's coverage of Ono vs Lee

Some really awesome videos have been posted the last week. Both guys are so easy to root for. I thought the bit with Desanto and Otoguro was really cool seems like he has grown a lot mentally.

Just came here to start a similar topic and you beat me to it! The Japanese wrestlers including the Otoguro's seem to be really great down to earth people but not surprising considering their culture.
 

100% agree Flo has done a fantastic job with the content creation this week, almost was able to get my wife to sit through a whole 10 minute video...

One thing I would add is, in light of the Olympic/world results last year-  do you think the US is trying to get as many of the Japanese wrestlers over here as they can to see if there are any learning opportunities? Along with creating opportunities for our guys, I would think it also has to be a little bit reconnaissance for our RTCs to get to better understand what the best guys in the world our doing. 
 

One last question I had was where are the Japanese coaches? Seems like their guys are pretty intertwined in the schools they came to train with but I'm surprised not to see any of their coaches in the video clips that have been posted.

The content has been fantastic, especially the drilling/sparring footage. It has done it's job in getting me hyped and resubscribed. My annual sub lapsed at the beginning of February and I was waiting until the US Open before renewing. This cute little event got Flo several months more of my money. Bastards (keep it up though)

One of the best pieces (actually two different videos) I've seen is Jason Nolf breaking down and discussing in detail the Ono vs. Lee match.  He both talks about what Lee does well and shows what Ono is likely to do, including how Lee might reasonably respond. Nolf is a master technician and tactician and is clear with his explanations.  Here is one of the videos:

Flo did a nice job tonight, and I agree their lead-in coverage was great too.

Really appreciate the sportsmanship of the Japanese wrestlers, both at the event and in the Flo videos beforehand.

I almost want to root for Ono...the kid is so happy. I also loved seeing Lee look...laid back and mellow during weigh-ins. 

 

I think he'd benefit from dumping that "winning is life, losing is death," mentality...and I shouldn't quote that as I'm not sure that's exactly what he said, but it was close. 

 

(Or maybe he wouldn't...the hell do I know...he's a 3X Champ with a Silver at the Olympics, his way only failed relative to the INSANE standards set for him).
