I'd say there could be a conflict of interest, depending on how the organization is set up. They could be influenced by the government to report as the government wants in order to avoid harming their pocket books. Ruins journalistic integrity. But, conglomerates like this dip their toes in everything they can make a buck on these days, so may need to regulate them more than anything.
