Going from landing the top recruit in 2021 (Paddy Ghallagher), a historic 2022 where they swept the top 3 (Mendez, Bouzakis, Feldman), to now whiffing on every top recruit, including in state Marcus Blaze, is not a good trend. Not being in Bassett's top 4 is a bad look as well when they obviously put the full court press on him.

Not to mention the only sure bet AA out of the Buckeyes listed above is Mendez, they don't seem to be developing talent like they need to be. What are y'all's thoughts? Is the development (or lack thereof) of past blue chippers hurting the Buckeyes? Are they short $ and can't compete in the NIL era? What's the deal?

@ionel being that you are the self proclaimed mod president I am reporting mean Gene.  As a medical professional & international chef he is obligated to disclose that buckeyes are toxic if not prepared properly.  Maybe not a forum ban but should consider revoking his medical license

We shall banish him to the Non Wrestling Topics for a week.  That should give him time to think about the implications of excluding proper disclaimers.  🤨

I want new assistant coaches. Ryan can CEO.

The combo of Jaggers, Stieber and Jordan just don’t do it for me.

Ryan needs to make a splash here soon to give the Ohio State fan base some ease.

I don't know.  That's harsh.  You have to prepare for at minimum a year to jump over into that abyss.  Maybe just a stern talking to?

Looks like someone read my post over on Bucknuts and asked ChatGPT to reword it’s summary in order to repost it as your own over on Intermat lol.

Like not only is it the same exact content, subject matter, and examples… but it’s in the same exact order I used as well lol.

What a coincidence.

Mccrone/Kilkeary, Davino/Bouzakis, Mendez, Gallagher, Cannon, Welsh, Feldman all have a shot to AA next year. I think they are doing fine certainly need to go pretty hard on the 2026 and 2027 classes though.

"What a coincidence" lol after the bucks just whiffed again on the last actual recruit they had a chance on in the class, you're surprised somebody besides you decided to complain? You're giving yourself too much credit to think that whatever post you wrote is a novel thought, there's about 10,000 pages of people saying the same stuff on various forums. I did not see a post here discussing it. Thanks for thinking ChatGPT composed it though.

As a Buckeye fan I've been relativley disappointed with how the recruits have panned out as of recent minus the obvious ones but I think that the team is still young and next year will be the time to really perfrom. They have a good squad and they don't need to recruit super hard right now. Marcus Blaze was a tough loss but I thought if Blaze would have been going to tOSU he would've committed far far sooner. I think there is a chance Davino is the guy over Bouzakis and Bouzakis may bounce but I also think Davino is better. Feldman's confidence being shot is very worrying but I don't know if that's a product of coaching or a product of his own thoughts. Everyone put a full court press on Bassett but Ohio State is not the wrestling brand that the other three are and that is clearly what he cares about. I hink Tom Ryan has been excellent in his tenure as the Buckeyes coach for 15+, similar level coaches and programs have had far far worse lows.

It just seems like, aside from Mendez and Welsh, the rest are underperforming. Feldman looks to be regressing this year. Davino looks promising, but he's also not starting over a lackluster Bouzakis relative to his expectations. (BFosr - sure hope these aren't your thoughts I'm plagiarizing - I'm sure you're the only who thinks this).

Calling Bouzakis’ season “lackluster” seems a bit of a stretch IMO.  If Crookham is out, he’s got a chance to win the whole thing.  His only losses are to Davino and three guys that could also win the title all in close matches, and he has several quality wins and an over 60% bonus rate

tOSU has two reigning finalists including one champ, a likely 3x AA/championship contender heavyweight 26 & 27, and consistently spectacular recruiting classes.

Cleveland State just wants a team. Damn yall.
